Macintosh LC - First boot up in 25 years! Startup Fix!

I picked up my 30-year-old Macintosh LC from my parents' house recently. Unsurprisingly, it required a bit of help to get going. The Parameter RAM (PRAM) required replacement. The monitor was shot, so I purchased an adapter and the SCSI drive needed to be opened up to unstick the head.
C2G Macintosh DB15 to VGA Adapter - Not recommended if you're using 512x384 and require more than 16 colors. Adapter defaults 640x480 on the LC

I got my first Apple Macintosh in 1984 for my birthday. I remember giving it to my younger brother for his University studies. I hated the tiny B&W screen. I didn't use a Macintosh until I inherited a IIfx that came with a publishing/printing business that I bought. I used that until I bought a Quadra 950 which was a decent step up in performance for a while and then the business bought two Powermac 9500/200's and these lasted me until they were sold and I transferred to B&W G3's and then a succession of G4 towers and the first of the huge G5 towers until I sold the business in 2006 and retired. I set up a Power Macintosh 6100 for my parents to connect to the Internet. Been quite some journey! I have an entire spare room full of Macs and HDD's etc with too much to list here. Good memories. ))

That size monitor flowed well with the LC. I recall there was a larger monitor, but it was a big jump in price.

Was it really only a 16-bit data bus? I thought it was 32-bit processing but a 24-bit data bus? My first Mac was a IIsi, which I know was 32-bit "clean" so I never had to worry about the LC and the issues it may have had with System 7.1 or 7.5 back in the day...

Yup, sadly it was built on a 16-bit data bus. That said, it worked well enough at the time. (I'm jealous of your Mac II 👍)

If you ever get this LC working in 512x384 on a TFT please let me know. My machine runs on 6.08. which is faster than MacOS7.
