    What a beautiful train - especially with those big windows and skylights. Never ever seen a train with a balcony either. I could definitely do with a pisco sour right about now. I love train adventures, although never been on such a posh one as the first class you're on. I'm totally up for it! Beautiful footage. 😀

    It was pretty neat to see the IncaRail train because I took that up to Machu Picchu way back in 2002. The first class train was way more swank than the one I was in! Passing by the Urubamba River brought back memories of whitewater rafting down those rapids. The drone shots of Cusco were pretty epic. Can't believe how much expansion has happened in Aguas Calientes since the early-2000s!

    That's so cool they have that train going out there - we always want to head out there since they've talked about closing off traffic (or the majority of it) to Machu Picchu since it's such a sacred and respected destination. I'm excited to watch the bus ride up and exploring MP -c/t

    Thanks for share this experience with us. I felt as living into the train. Different places to know in Cusco. Someday I think travel to Cusco. It will be soon, I don't know if I'll travel alone or with my partner, only God knows the answer. Congratulations friends for this experience in cusco is awesome. Machupicchu is the best place to know. I'm feeling mixed feelings, when I am going for the jungle. I have lived for seven years in San Martin other beautiful place in Peru. For me the jungle is the better because I love animals, monkeys, parrots, insects, possums, birds, spiders, etc....the list never ends I remember the moments in the jungle. I hope to return with a new ideas....as I said, I hope to raise insects and other animals and I think also I will plant several plants as heliconias, some trees, orchids etc...because I know that trees are the unique element to save planet.

    Wow! That is one fancy train! Great way to get there! I, Alex, got to Aguas Calientes by going on a 12 hour minibus ride through perilous mountain roads, worked out cheaper and was quite the experience but the train would have been much easier. Did you guys think about walking up to Machu Picchu? I did that, it nearly killed me haha but a good sense of achievement when you had made it up! Anyway, hope you guys had a magical time up there! Thanks for sharing.

    Very nicely done! We actually 'lived' in Cusco for a month in October to explore the Valley and loved it there. And of course we took a train ride to Machu Picchu as well - but not first class, so we had to stick out our camera to catch the curve from the bathroom windows :) Next time, we want to do your train ride, seems very cool!! And Aguas Calientes is such a tourist trap, don't you think?

    Travel by train ... the only civilized way to travel these days (especially in the first class cabin!!). Such a perfect way to get to your bucket list destination!! You guys are making some seriously good content and deserve so much more from KZread to promote your content! I noticed one thing that might help. I noticed you’ve only got CLOSED CAPTION from KZread auto generation and a lot of it is mislabeled. If you go thru and add it in yourselves, KZread algorithm will recognize that and give your videos a boost because of the CC check in the box. I’ve noticed a big search boost in each of my videos since implementing this. Anyways, love your stuff and keep inspiring! dan

  • @TheNearAndAway

    @TheNearAndAway

    Thanks for the closed caption tip! Do you just do English CC, or have you played around with any foreign language? I wonder if there would be an additional bump for each language added. 🤔Thanks again for watching!

  • @WhatMyLensSees

    @WhatMyLensSees

    The Near & Away I’ve only done the English version and saw a fairly significant increase in views because the video started ranking much higher in search. When I saw how well it worked on one video, I literally went thru all of my videos and spent the time to add my own captions. And the results have been very good. Crazy how something that seems pretty insignificant can give you a boost in the algorithm. If you added another language, I’m guessing that’s even better but have not tried (yet 😉)

    I like the story-telling quality of this video mixed with the Peruvian music. Nice touch. The views from the balconies look amazing. Would you recommend saving Macchu Picchu for one full day instead of seeing it the same day you arrive, then? Or could it be done on the same day?

    I visited Machu Picchu as a Peace Corps Volunteer on a limited budget. I sat in "coach" riding with the natives and their livestock. I spoke with them, I engaged with them, I learned about them. I couldn't afford the bus up the mountain so I climbed it, the way the Incan's did. I walked in their shoes and saw their Heaven from their eyes. I don't begrudge you your luxury but I hope that you understand that I think you missed out on an even more amazing experience by feeling, "Sad to get off the train."

    IncaRail es la competencia de PeruRail. Inca Rail usa trenes mucho mas antiguos (de 1908 . . . claro, reconstruidos) y sencillos que su competencia (PeruRail). IncaRail ha tratado de copiar el servicio que brinda PeruRail, pero se nota la diferencia.

    Hey! I just rode with PeruRail and it was a really terrible experience. I just want to let people know that in 2024 that its a scam, so that they don't have to have the small experience as me. Overpriced, mean staff, the bus was smelly, gross, and bumpy. Overall, just avoid PeruRail. IncaRail really is so much better! Good choice on taking that train.
