Macho grass genetic bulls turned in with cow mob!

Macho grass genetic bulls turned in with cow mob! The boys are excited to finally be with the girls. The herd dynamics of both sexes meeting each other is eye dropping. Lots of testosterone on display with 7 bulls being introduced with the cows.

In Canada, our foresters recommend that Wolf trees are kept in the forest because they produce far more seed and they are the best wildlife habitat. We keep them in a clear cut blog as reserve trees for the above reasons, as well as for aiding with the visual impact of a clear-cut. They usually blow down in a few years after logging anyway, and then they provide woody debris for wildlife on the floor.

They are some beautiful bulls. I love the dark red colored ones! They remind me of the Santa Gertrudas bull that was my pet. His name was chili pepper and he was easier to car for than some of the cows we had. I could walk out in the field and he would come to me because he loved his ears rubbed.

Seven world class bulls being reintroduced into a mob of cows numbering over (what?) 150+ head? As a human those odds are too unusual to properly understand. The way that all the females reacted when they saw the males. If there are no Genetic Defects present in the Bloodlines, there won't be a problem . Linebreeding is what makes Cattle consistent and uniform. When a Cattleman crosses Linebred Bulls with unrelated Cows, especially from not only different Breeds, but from Linebred (but different) background, THAT is when Maximum Heterosis ( Hybrid Vigor) benefits the Cattleman.

Your correct, my point is that winter blizzards are no time to ask a cow to calve. Even if you get them up and put them in a barn, the cow still struggles because you are asking her to raise that calf with no green grass available. Your fighting nature, calve when its warm and there is something green for the cow to graze.

There's not even 200 cows. Over 200 total animals maybe but that's calves and steers too.

@@grantstump4010 Yup. When he had 296 animals last year I was assuming about half of those were cows, so less than 150 would be safe given its a cow-calf operation. But could be even fewer cows when you consider how many bulls he's retaining to grow out to two years or better. He might only have 100 cows.

That one poor SOB had to go to meet the ladies of Green Pastures Farm with another bull's stress diarrhea all over his head at 0:23 ! That poor bull isn't going to breed a single cow until the first big rainstorm cleans him off!

some of the cows looked "messy" too. Does pasture promote scours ? I experienced a barn full of sick cows one time & it was an eyeopener. They were holsteins & our neighbor used to let me tag along when he was making purchases for his herd. His barn was not like that one. ( In Memoriam Mr Lowenstein )

They get the job done every year. Be cautious of very large testicles, sometimes they are big as a result of heavy grain feeding. Large grainfed testicles destroy the breeding ability of the bull.
