Machining Delrin on the Nomad -
Ғылым және технология
Acetal, Polyoxymethylene (POM), Delrin, whatever. This family of thermoplastics is gloriously friendly to machine, and worth considering if you need something durable and dimensionally stable. Here are some speeds and feeds to consider with our standard 1/8" endmill.

Huge help, thanks you so much for making this video
Thanks for sharing this video!
ON DELRIN WE USED CARBIDE ROUTING TOOL WITH GREAT SVCCESS WITH MINERAL OIL AS A LUBRICANT .
Winston, thank you for the information, It looks like you make most of your machining for special materials on the Nomad. As a Shapeoko user, it would be nice if you also provided some advice for F&S if you are using the Shapeoko at the same time. We know it can be machined on the Shapeoko but knowing by how much we should modify the recipe would be helpful instead of using the trial and error method.
Wow I'm first to comment! more great Nomad advice. One tip, if I may? I am new to all of this so have to re-watch the video a few times to grasp the settings. Any chance you could add them in the comments? Also some tips videos for those of us still using Carbide create would be awesome.
Could you also make a guide for HPL?
No matter what feeds and speeds I use I always seem to get a gathering of acetal strands when pocketing several small circles

This happens to me when my endmills get too dull or my rpm is too high and I'm melting the delrin
How did you clamp the pom to bed?
Is phenolic a substitute to delrin
