First time I heard the Great JB singing "There was a time", I was 17. 60 years on, I still live to his songs and Maceo's sax. Man, this pair is unbeatable. By any standards!

funky Skeet was already bombing the funk at those times Wooten wastn't famous. And Wooten ist funky - they can all do fast splapping today - but Skeet was one of those originals which gave funk the face of P-Funk. Can't be rated high enough... check out stuff from the early P-Funk 80ies - lineup with Skeet & Dennis Chambers - bass&drums at its best. or check out Maceo & WDR BigBand just some years ago where they had Skeet&Chambers again for the Funky Party of the show - one of a kind both !

@@originalfunkyfry ..in 1988 +1989 maceo toured with the JB All Stars Feat B.Byrd...after that tour maceo did shows w/clinton in late 89 and 90..

yeah must of been hard for Maceo especially since he never did drugs and made a promise to himself when he was young that he was never going to use drugs.
