Maceo Parker - Pass the Peas
At that time Maceo was performing with two rhythm guitars just as the J.B.s didi - the gruitar scratching funk sound is going deep into each stomach...

Thank you for posting this! It was an honor touring with my uncle Maceo. I was very fortunate. It made me a much better player! I love you forever uncle Maceo!
Maceo with the short sweet riffs has to be one of the best alto players alive!
Yes, I agree with you avp0713. Saw him live few years ago and caused same impression to me.He' s the god of funk sax but for jazz-funk leave it to others like f.ex.Mr.Rusty Bryant or Mr.Lou Donaldson.
Tyrone Jefferson the trumbone player for JB on this gig! He played with Maceo too. As great bone player as Fred! Note: he was still playing with the Soul G’s until the passing of JB
ISSO SIM É BLACK MUSIC NA MAIS PURA ORIGINALIDADE. UM FORTE ABRAÇO PRA RAPAZIADA LA DE BH (ESCOLA DE SOUL). BLACK MUSIC... É PRECISO MOSTRAR RESISTÊNCIA. QUE DEUS TODO PODEROSO ABENÇOE OS BLACKs!!!!!!!!!!!
Da baddest groove there is!!
you must be one of those funky soldiers spreading the funk all around in classy suit and shiny horns! ... oh wait!

PACE THE PEASE OH WHAT THEY USED TO SAY!
0:19 Thums up for the best, jumping crazy guy! *___*
0:18-Pass them then?
i like when they play it slower
Pace the peas???
@MrSaxman58 - I love Maceo's sax playing, for many many years, but he can't hang with REAL jazz saxophonists - no way no how. Please do not take this as a slam to Maceo, because like I said, I do love his playing and I play all of his solos from his JB's days. (check my own videos).

Maceo is a funk master and has the best tone and groove for an alto saxophonist. It's not a competition or a sport. True music comes from love.
I am both amused and deeply offended.
no, that would be japan
@gblueslover2 Don't worry they are Europeans. They don't know ain't shit about funk... ;-)
@SKULASCHU cheesy argument, europe is here to take care of abandonned american jazzmen and funkeeters...
