I had stayed in Grace Hotel in 2008. That lane used to more fun there with bars on the streets. Not many Arabs and Arabic shops then. The Grace disco used to have lots of women from Eastern Europe and Central Asia looking for customers. Hardly any Indians were there in that area then. Mostly rich Arabs and white people. Sukhumvit 10-16 yrs back used to be a lot more fun.
