excuse me, it was Scotts plan, arguable his greatest achievement before his death. (Scotts great snake) Winfield Scott was a vastly underrated general in US history. the dude oversaw the Mexicans American war and helped design the plan that defeated the confederates. He even served in the war of 1812, which shows how he was there for half a century of American wars. Honestly I started reading about him when I started writing this and even early on he was a great officer, just read it, he went so far as to resign his commission when he saw misconduct by his commanding general (he withdrew the resignation before it became official only to be court martialed for mishandled funds when he was recruiting men for the army, which he was punished for but he wasn't convicted of anything other then poor record keeping) and afterward got in a duel with someone who he felt was partially responsible for his court martial. this is literally him in his first two years in the army, the war of 1812 didn't even start at that point. oh did I mention he was 24 at this point (join at 22)
