you can use it without a battery indefinitely. the battery just makes it usable without the cord but not necessary to operate. i have another laptop....a compaq has not had a battery for a couple of years and still use on a regular basis. hope this helps. thanks for watching.

i have the same macbook like yours but it says 100% fully charged and the charger is green yet it is not fully charged

Your macbook is probably an old version? It has a battery screw on the bottom which can open that easy, mine doesn't and most macs don't

im glad i can help...but pls back up all your data asap this is a logic board problem with these laptops. eventually it will completely fail. this is a temporary fix....

Hi, thank you for the video, I have the same laptop and I dropped it the other day :( sadly the battery is very swollen now and won't fit inside it's space, I had to stick it using a tape .. however, I wanted to ask about using the laptop without a battery, how long can I use it like this? would it be harmful if I used it without the battery for long? I have to order a new battery online and it's going to take me some time to do so..

your mac is newer, the battery is inside the laptop, take the screws out from the bottom and remove the cover , the battery should be marked and should say "Battery"

And the battery dose not light up

Mine would still have the charge bolt symbol and yet not hold a charge. The green light on my charger tip still lights up as it is charging but continues to die with the lightning bolt symbol still there. I don't get the red light, just the green. I'm baffled!

thanks for the comment. as i said before this is usually a logic board problem and it will stop working completely my advice is to back up your data and begin looking for a new laptop or get it professionally repaired asap.

+L Herrera Okay thanks. I tried pulling the battery is and restarting it with the charger back in but it won't even start. I'm just getting the fan spinning on and off with the white light flashing three times and a clicking sound.

Actually, after I removed the battery and attached the AC adaptor, computer wouldn't even start up. So then I replaced battery. And it started up so guess AC adaptor is the problem.

you probably bought the wrong charger maybe the watt is too high or too low near the serial code on the back there should be a model number find that model number on ebay or amazon for example (Model No A1286 ) just type in YOUR model and charger next to it

+Ninja Gaming the battery not charging is a logic board problem.as far as the screen it may be related. but hopefully you are backed up or you can connect to an external moniter. sorry cant be more help with that. but good luck.
