This song very clearly belongs in a movie. M83 makes lots of music for films. This "reinterpretation" makes the base song even more powerful. It won't surprise me if this song ends up in multiple films.

That’s because joker isn’t and has never been a superhero, he’s just a crazy guy and nothing that happens in this movie besides Bruce’s parents death is canon, it was only made to show a very different reality of what an actual joker in the past would look like

Great point of comparison. It never occurred to me there was any point of likeness between the antiheroes in JOKER and SCARFACE. Even now that I see it, I’m still struggling with how to articulate it. But this song might as well have been written to point it out.
