I opt for a big (almost ridiculous looking) rubber mallet i have for tapping off pieces. Its much better on the metal and isn't nearly as bad on the wood if I accidentally hit it.

They only did that extension in order to use the 1893 bayonet for some reason. With it off you could use the KAR98 bayonet.

Just picked up a Zastava M70 pistol and the guy was like " why's it so sticky? Had a thin coat of cosmoline on it. So I told him just wait, I'm getting 2 of their mineshaft specials 😂

@The_Casual_Collector I got it from Rguns $245 after shipping & tax. Not bad at all. I don't think they are C&R though. At first glance I thought mine was unissued. But on closer inspection I found a few blemishes. But still in Excellent condition. I was thinking of putting up a video tomorrow.....

@acester86 nice, I saw those, but passed since it wasn't C&R, but it's a great price on them. Cool, I'll keep an eye out for the video.

Awesome, you're welcome sir. Sorry to hear that on the retainer. Century arms international has them for $5, listed as Spanish M43/M44 Band Spring. Do a google search for that, I can't list the link.

You're welcome sir, no, this was the one closer original ones advertised that cost like $200. Good deal on submitting your c&R paperwork. I think it's well worth the $30.

hey carbine collector. i had just recieved one of the $98 specials from HL and had asked casual about that front setup hence the video!. the one i got has a nasty big crack at the wrist like someone used it as a softball bat but otherwise was complete and very dirty. bore looks ok but only a good cleaning will tell. all in all pretty good deal for the money. i like projects like this. if i screw it up i'm not out alot o cash! lol takes the pressure off!

@@RUSTYSURPLUS yes i'm going to give it a go and see what happens lol. the crack is thru where the trigger bolts toward the butt stock. it took a right and turn and ended up half way down. has an abrasion on the ront like it got or crushed by something. i'm thinking glue it together then use wood screws before and after trigger assembly and 2 in the butt stock from one side with epoxy. set them in the stock and fill in the holes. thoughts?

@@timweidman9783 Hey Epoxy yes .. get epoxy in there as much as you can.. then CLAMP it. MSAK with tape every thing so the glue doesn't get every were. Then get an 1/8 drill bit and 1/8 wood dowel and use the instead of screws. I worked with wood /const. for ever and gluing stuff together is kinda easy. Clamp it all together first as a test.. before you go to the glue/ epoxy. take some before and after pictures.
