i love the video im planning to rebuild my m42 engine as well for my 1991 318i! i have so many questions b/c i never rebuild one before but where do you source your parts? and what did you replace? did you replace pistons, valves rods, bearings, lifters? how much does it roughly cost ?

i used mainly partslink24 website for engine schemes . Main components i replaced were pistons and piston rods . also all bearings were replaced and other parts like valves , crankshaft , engine block , camshaft were rebored

Great rebuild ! I'm envious of your abilities. Did do any upgrades / mods ? Factory spec cam and crank ?

You can do it Just invest in some decent quality used tools and practice on a blown up junkyard engine

Najprv čumím, že aká super kvalita a potom čumím znova, že RS :) Akurát sa zamýšľam nadtým, či nechýba ďobka tesniaceho silikónu pod ventil-deklové tesnenie v mieste ako sa spája hlava a kryt rozvodov ? To je zóna kde začína olejový festival na M42/M43/M44. Rozvodové lišty si kúpil nové ?

toto je v podstate len Gočka po tom čo sa mi rozsypali ojničné ložiská , okrem výbrusu to je celé v základe

those bolts of oil pan doenst need a expeciply torq?

I used torque wrench just didn't put it in video (common value for those small bolts is 15 Nm) . But the small oil pan is tricky because it's from aluminium and you can snap threads easily . I replaced threads on small oil pan for metal thread inserts later on so I can tighten them more and prevent leaking

that was only exhaust manifold sound XD IRL it was pretty loud
