At this point, she no longer "thinks" rationally. She kills anyone in her way as she sees them as a potential threat for Cady. Or, she just made him pay for exploiting Cady's suffering and grief to make profit.

I think I missed something: why did M3gan have it in for David? What did he do? He never threatened Cady. And why didn't Kurt help him in the elevator - why did he try to close the door? Overall, I was disappointed with this film. A fairly predictable, paint-by-numbers, thriller/horror. Maybe it would have been better if Cady had been the evil one and M3gan has to protect Gemma from Cady.
