i switched from a Dell Precision to a M3 Max Macbook Pro for film school and my life has changed because of it; the fact that my laptop doesn't die after 2 hours of editing has become a must for me.

@@raoufchattiim a pro editor and I can get around 4 hours of editing. The battery is incredible for a laptop and the amount of computing it can do on the go

Biggest surprise moment-even though I own an M1 Pro 14”-the webcam and mic segment. Still seriously impressive on both counts. Had you not announced what you were doing, I might have missed it. I would have noticed something slightly amiss, but was super impressed to know it was built-in capture.

Great video. If you had to configure the M3 max again what would be your specs? I know you said that apple sent you it this laptop for review so you didnt have a choice of configuration.

Coming from an M2 max (and an Intel leg burner before that), the M3 max is incredibly quiet and cool to the touch. The thicker enclosure is icing on the cake for me.

I really can’t decide which to go for. 14” or 16” and M3 Pro or M3 Max. I just want something that’s gonna rip through FCP and Lightroom.

I know this may seem crazy to most, but I worked with (and loved) the 15 inch MBA m2 until recently. That being the case, switching to the 16 inch MBP m3 max was a noticeably superior experience. The only downsides (imo) are the increased weight and the extra few hundred $ spent after selling my MBA. For me, at least, it was totally worth it. Maybe it’s the increased ram or the higher refresh rate as opposed to the m3 (meaning - maybe a refurbished m2 pro would have been just as nice), but I have zero regrets. Also, I bought the m3 max on Apple’s refurbished store and saved $500 off the same spec new model, and I was able to purchase AppleCare just the same. Buy refurbished Apple Store if you can. They are literally indistinguishable from new except for the box and (maybe) a few extra battery cycles. The excellent resale value of Apple laptops/phones make the premium price and frequent upgrades a bit more palatable. Just my 2 cents. Have a good one, everyone!

I just received my brand new M3 pro . I am switching due to my gaming pc keeps going to cmos and unable fix it for over a month.

I’m coming from an base m1 16gb ram. It did the job for a while, but after getting into more complex color grades. I couldn’t even review my footage in real time. I’d have to drop the quality all the way and use proxies to even get the video to play after coloring. My m3 max comes in tomorrow, and I couldn’t be more excited to have a smoother workflow.

I have been a Windows user my entire life, and I'm about to commit to switching to Apple for my computer, phone, watch, and headphones. I was an iPhone user from the 4,6,8, and X but switched over to the Samsung S22/S23 line when my Apple watch broke on during a deployment. I have a Windows rig with a water-cooled 14900k and 4090, as well as a very powerful Windows gaming laptop. Do you have any advise for me about switching back into the Apple ecosystem? I'm holding off and waiting for the 16 Pro Max iPhone to be released and the m4 chips for the next-generation Apple MacBook. I miss iMessage, facetime, Airdrop, and the stability I had with iPhones. However, I have never used an Apple computer before.

Mine don’t but I also use an external monitor as a second screen so I’m not staring directly at the MacBook all day. I have the m3 max

instead of buying the expensivest laptop and keep it for 10 years just buy the cheapest and upgrade every 2 or 3 years, for a youtuber it's just vanity, they could easily live with an m1 macbook air

People who work with heavy applications like Adobe CC Suite and other demanding graphics software will never do that.
