M158 REPLICA ON METH! - automation the car company tycoon

today we're building another replica engine pretty special engine if I would say so myself it's a 6 L V12 that's making between 720 and 850 horsepower I'm of course talking about the AMG Mercedes m158 engine it's a twin turbocharged monster of an engine it's a single cam though which I highly doubt but as of course the reports I found stat is a single cam I don't really know if you have more knowledge than I do about these types of engines do let me know down below and also while you're down there do let me know what engine you would like to see on the channel I will see if I can make that happen if I can't I will let you know but anyway thank you to the commenter who suggested this wonderful engine we're going to try and stick to the original idea but if we can't we will make a plan of course that's just how it works what I find really fascinating about this engine and the chassis in game me it came in all the pagani huayra up to recent which is pretty crazy and also it came in Mercedes AMG SL65 Black Series if you don't know that car please go and research that thing it's an animal of a car it is a V12 front engine rear wheel drive car I find that particular part really crazy because you don't get mini front engine V12 cars anymore especially not re drive that's all my knowledge get to get back to this engine build it's looking pretty
crazy so far as I know this thing is making good power for its size it's making 2,100 and 2,200 horsepower now it's doing pretty good but I see we have a lot of red flags still which exhaust turban valves intake manifold is still not terrible but it can be better the intercooler and of course the compressor I think we might have to switch the big turbos or rather more turbos in this case because already are the biggest we can get keeping a somewhat usable range let's see if we go variable no no variable today okay more boost okay so I'm going to see how far it can go before it really start making a problem for itself I mean close to 3,000 horsepower spring LIF tension doesn't really do anything I think it's time we switch there we go 3,145 horsepower is absolutely phenomenal the only problem we have now is the header size but that is being solved really quickly let's see can we do a little more trickery to get a little more rage okay we going do too much so that's pretty good and 3.1 bar boost it's really starting to push this a little harder adding some more boost doing a little more trickery to make it go even better 3 and a half th000 horsepower looks pretty easy we might have to revisit this engine sometime because uh I feel we we've not done it justice that much we might have to do a part two so do let me know down below if you'd like to see that maybe one on nitro-methane with a little more boost and a little more crazy I think that would be a pretty interesting engine but let's see I think they were pretty much tapped out oh yeah I forgot that okay I'm going to leave it there that's pretty good power so let's go see what this thing sounds like look at this beauty it's big and it man your respect anyway we're going to do two Dino runs one looking at the engine one looking at the graph let's see what this thing sounds like I do think it's going to be a pretty good sound
V12s will continually sound better and better no matter how many times I built one but anyways guys that's all for me for today first of all thank you if you stayed to this part of video second of all hit that subscribe button I've got a feeling you might liking around here but anyways guys that's all for me for today enjoy the rest of your day bye-bye

These engines started with the M137 in the late 90's, which they created for the W220 S-Class and C215 CL-Class. Since the W140 and its M120 were criticized for being too extreme (large, heavy, thirsty), Mercedes created a new V12 for the next generation of its top-tier coupes. From 6.0L to 5.8L, not a big difference there, but switching from DOHC heads to SOHC ones dropped hp from 389 (last M120's) to 362. But that was not enough. In 2002, they decreased displacement to 5.5L and added two turbos, pushing hp to 493 and torque to 590 lb-ft, IIRC. All twin turbo V12's were based on it. It's a good engine, but I definitely would've preferred if they kept improving the M120, even with turbos. Great vid, thanks a lot. 🗿👍🏻

@@Curiousgamer20 Glad to help! I love reading about engines. Sadly, I wish there were books specific about their V12's, but at least I never found any. 😓 BTW, worth building a de-stroked M120 revving to the moon...I wonder if it could tackle 1,000 hp without turbos, solely with revs...kinda like the Aston Martin Valkyrie, but with lower displacement and even higher revs.

Well if there aren't any books on these engines there is a lot of source's online and sometimes I use it but that engine build idea sounds awesome

@@Curiousgamer20 Yeah, at least there's that! 😅 And we can actually have a blast with the bits and pieces scattered all over the web, kinda like a Lego with words, haha! Jokes aside, most people increase the engine displacement, but very few go for smaller builds. 4N Motorsport built a de-stroked BMW N55 engine, from 3.0L to 2.6L, revving to 9000 rpm. Worth checking that out. The thing sounds almost like a Nissan RB26, beautiful. 👌🏻 Another one worth doing similar recipe (de-stroked) is BMW's S85, the V10 from the M5 E60. It's the closest thing to a proper street-legal Formula 1 V10 you can get, specially if tuned and modified to rev high (past 10,000 rpm) and kept naturally aspirated as well, although a twin turbocharged setup would be wicked too.
