M1 Abrams Tank Working Tiny Course on Demo by National Guard
U.S. National Guard storms through with their General Dynamics M1 Abrams tank to display what this thing is capable of at the Flying Heritage Collection at Paine Field. As you can see, the track was a bit tight for this machine but the crew still managed to put on a good show!

No tank can keep making small, tight turns like this, without throwing a track.

It is extremely hard on roadwheels, trans, and hydraulics. I was 19kilo in 95-96.

@@johnwilliamson2393 Awesome! Thanks, Sir! My expertise is only in Off-road, heavy equipment, but yeah they just are not made to do this type of operating.
Maybe a bit rough around the edges, but that's good training for the driver, too. That is a ridiculously small area to demonstrate maneuvers though, to be fair.
Driver RIP

And now we're gonna melt your face get those marshmallows ready folks
Love that turbine engine!
Certainly not the easiest space to manuever a 32 ft long, 137,400lb tracked vehicle in but, the weekend warrior really shows here. The loader is grinning ear to ear like he doesn't get to do that often, and the driver isn't exactly precise with his driving.

Well I mean yeah, when you’re stationed on homeland it’s not really that eventful besides once a month training or so

A lot of you guys don't know what you're talking about most of these Army national Guard guys came out of active duty and saw a bunch of combat deployments.

GOOD!
it looks really heavy I guess
Lol looks like they cut out the part where they tracked their tank on the loose gravel and tore up the rear fender XD

i dont think it was tracked, they just didnt want to risk actually damaging it and the fender any further the torque and tracks of that wouldve ripped right through it if the driver hadnt stopped

@@gfries4906 it was very much so. Driver walked the left track off but kept driving and ended up shredding the entire rear left fender lol
Should have it smash into a house!
The Leopard 2 would've completed that whole demo in 1/10th of the time, the M1 really does look cumbersome by comparison.

Uh, no. First, these are National Guard. They're Army a few days out of the month at best, the rest of the time they're civilians; so to say this crew is "inexperienced" is an understatement.

@@garrison0532082 yeah really inexperienced. The whole thing was quite the spectacle if you were there. They ended up knocking the track off driving on the loose gravel and tore up the rear panel near the sprocket lol
