Year 1971. As a bachelor going to Matunga stn, breakfast cost 50ps. Upma 37ps, tea 13ps. Now in kerala, I can only watch with nostalgia. I know the owner family. Best of luck.

I lived Matunga born and studied worked in Mumbai . In our childhood , we know only Anand bhavsn . Close to our house near Matunga police station . In 1987 we moved to Versova . Last connection with Matunga and we r in usa when I busted this time I will definitely visit Anand Bhavan . Will like Madras pakoda special item made on certain days only . Dosa was costing hardly One re only , I clearly remember idlky and wads 50 paise only with lot of chutney . It is legend Restt

Mangalore buns and ambade is a must eat item here...would definitely recommend to visit this place if you really want to try the real taste of udupi Mangalorian breakfast or snaks.

Am born brought up in Matunga and know Anand Bhavan like the fingers of my hand. It's a delight to eat here . Though do not reside now at Matunga when ever get a chance definitely visit the restaurant

Amazing Recommendations. AB Ribbon Pakodas and Masala potato chips are delicious too. It's a must-try Binge eating item.

Yes, I tried the masala potato chips too...they were too good but didn't shoot a few things as the video would have been too long... there's so much authentic food to eat and now I feel I'll have to visit again soon 😋 will definitely try the ribbon pakoras. Thank you

Yes I missed the biscuit roti that day as it is available only on Sundays. Will visit again soon for few dishes that I missed...It is certainly Mangalore in Mumbai like most of the regulars there said this too

The first time I tasted the lemon rice, I completely fell in love. That was prepared by my friend. Lots of curry leaves, cashew nuts, green chilles and long grain basmati rice. Even their bissi belli rice is super yummy. Thanks for sharing this place.

Till now they have maintained the quality and for that reason Anand Bhavan is so popular. Yes it is a must visit place for those who love authentic South Indian Food

Karnataka food is good combination of southern Indian ,Goa ,Maharashtra as well little bit of M P .Other states people do not be out of place real wealth of India is Information Technology future of India is Karnataka. People are very docile and mix with all community members .

Really it's south Indian testy food. We just visited recently & test is very good.

Kudos to Mr. Nayak The way he explained that when you prepare food for yourself you are cautious about the ingredients and proportion. I believe and practice in same ideology. I use to run a kirana shop and I followed the same principle.

We have been visiting since 1972 - 73... and use to pack hot hot medu wada n idlis with dry coconut chutney in banana leaves... Yummy is not the word... We still visit n enjoy the hot steam idli with podi chutney and also the chilled dahi rice... It's out of the world and not available anywhere else... ❤❤❤
