it's still insane. do you think any band would be able to release this video today? i don't think so, we live in a very conservative prohibited environment. the 80's is sadly a distant dream. and today's music reflects that perfectly, as its all $hite. in the 80's the best taylor swift could have done no 4 girl in the pen. all hail the crue, guns n roses, and anyone that flew the flag.

I was 15 years old when this song was released. What a phenomenal time to be young when metal was at the beginning of its inception; I will be forever grateful to have experienced bands like Motley Crue, Guns 'n Roses, Skid Row, Metallica, Slayer, White Lion, Poison, etc Kids today don't have a clue about the excitement of buying a new cassette (yes, cassette) and then saving up to see your favorite metal band in concert live. I saw Motley Crue with Foreigner at the Rochester War Memorial n Rochester, NY I'll never forget watching Tommy Lee doing his drum solos airborne and upside down; It was sick!!!! What a great time to have been young, wild and a fledgling metal maiden!!! Thank you Motley Crue for teaching me the correct way to wear eyeliner and hairspray and most of all, thank you for all the fond memories!!! You can't find those on Snapchat, Twitter, Tik Tok or You Tube God bless MTV, metal and long live the music Amen❤💋

Looking back in hind-sight Motley Crue was-is a super group. You have 4 strong personalities or 4 "alphas", strong musicianship from each one of them, Whether you consider Mick's tasty guitar bits ( and perfect metal tone), Tommy's flashy strong drumming , Vince's supreme quality voice on vinyl, or Nicki Sixx's EXCELLENT song writing. Their physical image had cute faces for the girls that cared and tough faces for the guys that didn't . They caught lightning in a bottle for this album, that's for sure.

I was 14 when this came out too. I went to a Christian school and some guys were passing a “Shout At the Devil” tape to each other on the sly. Everyone was looking at it like WTF… and I’m not sure why. I mean, we all grew up with KISS, for pete’s sake. When the teacher left the room, we really started looking at it and talking about it. I remember there was some, um, confusion about Vince in particular. We knew it was not Christian school approved and we’d get our asses kicked for having it. That was enough for me. I HAD to have it and it was the first album I bought with my own money. NO REGRETS.

One thing about the movie that drove me nuts is they didn't have the actors hair right. Motley had way BIGGER hair.

In the 80's they used tons of hair spray to achieve that "look" and due to the stigma with "Global Warming" and hairspray releasing harmful chemicals into the atmosphere they opted not to use any hairspray and avoid any potential scrutiny later from keyboard warriors and Politically Correct Critics. This isn't confirmed information just a possibility I conjured up after reading your comment.

Their MASTERPIECE , SHOUT was their swan song. EVERYTHING AFTER WAS NOT THE CRUE.
One of their best songs. Bad ass.
I had these guys plastered all over my wall and ceiling when I was 14. Vince, Nikki and Tommy were hot back then. Mick was, by teen-girl standards, the “ugly” one... but the reality was that he was/is the coolest one in the bunch. Glad to see him get the love he deserves. He was totally overshadowed by the others in their heyday.

This always reminds me of The Sunset Strip in Hollywood. I miss how the Sunset Strip scene was back then... the 80's ROCKED THE SUNSET STRIP... MOTLEY CRUE WAS ON TOP ;) Life was fun back then and bands were not hurting one another. We would just have poster wars... and no one cared to be politically correct with every single thing. WE MADE LIFE A PARTY 24 HOURS A DAY!!!!! Somehow we have got to get back to that ;)
