This definitely seems like an exciting new concept to bring power back to the artists. I like how the internet is slowly making that possible. I’m not a fan of NFTs just because of the concept behind them but I can get behind this idea.

This is excellent. As someone who works in banking as a quant at a large Bank. I really appreciate this being a very innovative and great way to make fans into shareholders and investors essentially. This also solves what is known as the principal-agent problem in finance - which is essentially a way to align the interests of the artists and the fans as they both share a common goal to achieve the highest returns on the investment. That is a direct incentive to expand the audience. This is a great funding mechanism and a way to dis-intermediate brokers from the process. This is a great and much needed innovation in the music industry. The old world just doesn’t work and is no longer fit for purpose. This is the way forward. That said - as with any other assets, the valuation principles, price discovery mechanisms, the secondary market trading mechanisms, the liquidity and the risk/return profiles should all be made as clear and transparent as possible in order to ensure an orderly functioning of this nascent market.

Can't wait for the new Avenged Sevenfold/A7X album!!! The Stage ruled! 🤘🏽

@@Timewalker13 it doesn’t touch COE or even WTF. Their only heavy song on the entire album was “God Damn” and “The Stage”. Everything else was prog/hard rock/rock. A7x died when the Rev died.

1. Sounding of the Seventh Trumpet (2001 - 2002) 2. Waking the Fallen (2003) 3. City of Evil (2005) 4. Avenged Sevenfold (2007) 5. Diamonds in the Rough (2008) 6. Nightmare (2010) These 6 albums are the best albums.. HTTK was basically Plain but decent & The Stage was Amazing but it lost the Metalcore side of them :(

At this point no one can explain what a NFT is, but everyone has a secondhand knowledge of what it REALLY is!!

As a huge fan of A7X, I appreciate them for wanting to reach fans in a different way and also giving us diehard fans a possibility to not just be a huge part of the band that we know and love but it gives the ability to also pass it along to others, or Pass it down. I love it and thank you the band for the opportunity. I'm excited to see this go as far as you plan for it to.

@@decemberflower3990 first time in a long i heard shadows try and scream.. their songs had the same depressive undertones as they use to.. and first time in a long time a song went over 2.5 minutes.. the stage was so much better than lets say.. hail to the king.. cmon now..

I never thought of NFT in this way. I've practically figured it was useless but the way they are trying to make it with the bands seems super well thought out and sounds like they are gonna innovate the future of music.

What do you mean thin air? You get real-life perks for owning one. Not only that, but you can sell it, so it becomes an investment of a sort. I do wonder how it's going to turn out though, and how it will mesh with whatever club they'll be running alongside this, more exclusive one. I imagine they'll have a second membership club going that has a regular paid subscription, because the profit they get from the NFTs is shaky. They only get 5% when one sells.

Now that this makes makes more sense, I like the business model but I dont think an NFT is exactly necessary to make it happen but the future is the future. Now what I dont like is how this is gonna end up being a "Rich kids club" cause these things aren't gonna be cheap and ALOT of fans aren't gonna be able to afford it

I would get a real kick out of investing in an emerging band in this way!

A7x is already a pretty big band they’ve been around since 2001. They just haven’t released anything in a few years.

@@K26872 yeah I'm more referring to new / up & coming bands.. 'buying in' via crypto / nft seems like a great idea. Not only you get a (risky yes) investment kinda like small cap / unlisted shares, but much more personal engagement & enjoyment of your investment! + Bands get freedom from big label ownership - everybody wins!

One large appeal to bands doing this is, as a consumer, you are basically investing in a stock that can appreciate in value. If you “discover” and new band, invest in their NFT club, and they blow up; you can sell your NFT for a large profit if you want.

I was a huge critic of the Deathbat Club when I first heard of it, but after reading into it I think this is the future in which bands should follow. It also let's people show off who the real OG fans are via the NFT history. No more "I've been a fan since Sounding The 7th Trumpet" etc, you can easily say, "I am an original Deathbat holder" etc. I don't think any other band could pull this off, with such a big audience or with such success that could really help bring a change to the way that actually helps the band and not the greedy "publication" venues. What I'd like to see other bigger bands include in their hypothetical NFT: Deftones White Pony Club: 2 free Belching Beavers at their shows Slipknot Maggot Club: air drop for 1 free tour shirt per tour (or 1 lifetime mask!) Korn Freak Club: meet and greet opportunities or backstage VIP access System of a Down: ....yeah right, this one won't be worth 0.0008 etherium 🤣🤣🤣

that "original holder" part as a way of proving legitimacy as a fan is absolutely pathetic lol, imagine paying a truckload of cash just to claim you're a better/more long-term fan than someone else??? it shouldn't matter, being a fan of something isn't a competition, if you're a real one it'll be pretty obvious, this way just allows people with enough money to throw away on dumb gimmicks the chance to buy their way into looking better than others even if in reality they're just as inauthentic as the people who would typically pretend to have been longtime fans

I know Avenged Sevenfold is getting alot of hate because of this new direction! I don’t really understand it either to be honest. Sorry I don’t like this idea… I don’t know how to wrap my brain around this. This makes it feel like being a fan you have to be part of a whole business scheme. I just want to listen to music I like on Spotify. This isn’t an all new tech that’s life changing… there’s nothing wrong with the way music already is.

So just like Bourbon, where all of a sudden people buy up $50 bottles and now bc they aren't accessible to everyone, the become triple (or more) the value on the secondary market. That's what I feel like I'm hearing...

This sounds great to buy into now as these digital tokens will only go way up in value, I'm sure. There are a lot of questions running through my head though. It seems the most exclusive perks will go to the holders of these tokens, but will it remain that way if they don't continue to resell adequately? The band only gets paid that 5% when they resell, so what incentive will they have to continue to provide the perks when people choose to hold onto them. I'd assume most people are buying into these for the perks because they're big fans of the band, but not for an investment to resell. And what happens when a holder of the NFT dies?
