No reason to be bitter. Finland won this time, but it's not like Sweden hasn't snagged their fair share of victories from Finland in the finals. Both are great teams and exciting to watch. I for one cheer for Sweden if Finland gets eliminated first, even though I'm a Finn. Let's just look forward to next time, right?

As a finnish person I can't say I was unhappy when Finland won but I'm happy to see Fasth play really good in Anaheim. I wish any individual person all the success. Anything else is immature.

@BiggusHansin Tournament. It was decided after the first period so it could be announced. After this it seems somewhat weird maybe. After all, he played good tournament over.

If we were talking about which country REALLY is better, we'd be studying the countries' (professional) junior/minor hockey (junior tournaments, like the junior world champs and olympics, maybe even the new NHL draft picks) and the tournaments that really have the country's "elite", the best players playing in them. We'd be talking about tournaments like the World Cup and/or the Olympics.

I'm not sure about that. I think the match could have went however.

Comparing the countries by studying their success in the big tournaments is IMO better than doing the same while studying the success in the world champs, but neither of them are giving the whole picture. I'd really study the professional junior hockey and the country's success on the junior level to get a wider picture about it. Meaning the junior world champs, the junior olympics, maybe even the potential NHL draft picks and those players who've been drafted in the last couple of years.

Sadly enough your opinion is fully based on the success in the World Champs, which is a tournament held every year, with the NHL playoffs running strongly in the background. It's no surprise that all the countries won't get the players they've planned to play with the national team in a tournament. So, the tournament pretty much proves nothing.

Um, Sweden has and will always be the best team up north, Arguably russia. Sweden has the best prospects in Europe right now and Norway will never be any competition against Sweden...
