An impression of our visit to a beautiful region and old town - both called Mértola - in the south of Portugal.
We stayed at the Convento, an old monastery situated along the Guadiana river, and thanks to the Dutch family Zwanikken it became a wonderful harmony of history, art, nature and gardening!

So nice to see Mertola and the Convento again! I stayed there for some weeks many years ago. I´ll never forget it. It was an almost unreal experience. It was very dry, warm and not so green then. What month was this filmed? April? Lovely flowers.
