I often find myself thinking, “I’m not a huge Tarrega fan,” however, after having heard this absolutely brilliant performance, Mr. Falk really manages to bring out the nuances and colors, which are most often neglected by guitarists. I think I love Tarrega more than any other Spanish composer!

Tarrega is my favorite composer. And, of course, the best for last! My favorite piece. I don't know if anyone else noticed this but Marten has not looked at one page of sheet music this whole time; that's a lot to memorize. Well done, Maestro!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Martin Falk is not only an amazing guitarist but foremost to be included amongst the greatest romantic musicians such as Rubinstein and Horowitz . So showmanship or bravado here just music so perfectly played with such amazing dynamics . His playing of Marietta at 19:37 nearly brought tears to my eyes . His playing of Recuerdos is the essence of Spain . I am completely mesmerized by this performance . Thank you Martin ! You are the best musician and then guitarist I have heard . Bravo!

Ahhh, thank you thank you maestro for bringing me back to my roots...spanish guitar evokes so many feelings especially played by someone new, someone with such depth. It''s easy to get lost and drown in the many interpretations and composers, but this was pure.

I cant begin to describe the sensations I'm feeling, if I close my eyes and listen... I can feel and see the life I want to give myself... a whole other world, I have to keep going. Discovered Mr Falk via a KZread suggestion as I have Classical Guitar listed among my fields of interest. What beautiful playing, with rare fluency and sensitivity, and rich but not excessive variations in tone! The Tarrega favourites are all familiar, but I look forward to listening again to the slightly more austere and formal preludes until they are just as familiar. Sometimes a social-media algorithm gets something right!😊

Kind of. You also need to learn and train ear in order to appreciate and enjoy certain music. It took me a long time to fall in love in Bach works, for example.

Wow, my congratulations! Finally this is how Tarrega should sound, and you play like a great master like Yepes, Bream etc. On a footnote - I remember sharing a dorm room with you in Bath in 1997 (honey I send you love by email - will never forget that title!) and great to see how far you've taken your playing. Inspirational.

I bet he's a cool guy to burn a doobie with. But on a more serious note, I've watched/listened to a LOT of Capricho Arabe performances, and this is among the very best I've ever seen. I've not started learning this piece yet, but when I do, this will be my reference.
