どのMVも力入ってて 凄いですよね。

Rare straightforward story for an Eve MV, though a super bittersweet one. The ending can go two ways depending on how "whimsical" you take it. Either the Adventurer really did see some cosmic being of the Plant Girl in space and they became one together, or he really did basically just let himself die by flying into the shower with the thought of joining her in the afterlife. The way the chorus swells in that moment really hits hard too, pulling all the emotions of that idea together.

There's still something to theorise about though: did the Adventurer bring calamity to the planets, or are they just unlucky, or did they come to planets they knew would get destroyed? Maybe converting the planetary resources into that thing they put into their mask threw off some kind of balance?

@@fableagain well i think there's only really two places that get destroyed, the first system and the plant lady's planet my interpretation/theory is that space boy has lived in the first system for a very long time (maybe his entire life) based on the fact that there are tons of lines in the intro. The system got destroyed after a while, which is unlucky but it was bound to happen eventually (we don't know how long he can live/has lived, he doesn't seem to grow older throughout the MV so maybe he doesn't age and has stayed for thousands of years or more or smth) Then he finds the plant lady's planet, which I do think gets destroyed because of him waking up the plant (the planet implodes right when it happens, it has nothing to do with the asteroid things that destroyed the first system) Maybe the plant girl couldn't control her vines once she woke up, got overwhelmed and destroyed the whole planet from the inside

Definitely plausible. I somewhat see Eve metaphoring the adventurer as us as the nature stealers, devouring anything we set foot on. The ending dictates that we felt shame in the wake of our destruction and would do anything to see it's beauty once again. 😭

OKAY so I've been watching the MV on loop a few times and I have a theory. Originally the astronaut boy is looking for fulfillment by finding things in other planets and putting them through his mask. He marks these days by drawing a mark on the walls or something. When he meets the alien plant girl, he draws one line and doesn't draw anymore as he spends time with her and tries to free her. He's found fulfillment but he doesn't realize it or he doesn't want to commit to it because he fears it will fade away, so he goes off trying to consume other things. It's not until he loses the plant girl that he realizes she was what fulfilled him. So he searches for her, and when he finds her, his mask, which symbolizes his need to search and fear to commit, falls off and he kisses her. I think the lesson here is to never ignore happiness when it's right in front of you. But that's my take.

Maybe that's also what the meteor shower means too, how life can suddenly change and shift before we know it. He was left aimless in space only for the meteors to come out of nowhere and nearly take his life and when he met her he felt close to her but was afraid of the love to fade away, it was only when the meteors came back and tore them apart he truly lost what made him truly happy and when he finally found her he shed his mask and committed the rest of his life with her. Whatever the vast expanses has for them they know they have each other to carry the both of them through it all.

From the moment i saw that ending i immediately assumed that he died getting to her but all these other comments dont say that at all, most of them theorizing that they became one or that she protected him. Glad to see that people dont take the negative approach like i did.

This made me CRY 😭 The music is beautiful and the story is actually kind of relatable. The main character goes from place to place with no attachment, surviving by consuming filtered sustenance from habitats unnatural to him. Civilizations get destroyed and he has no connection to anyone there. He finally meets someone special to him and thats easily taken away, just like the other planets. For the first time, he felt attachment and its gone and hes safe but lost. And then its not, amidst the danger is where she is. He lets go and puts himself into harms way to embrace what is precious to him. 😭
