马六甲最正美食Best Foodie Haunts in Malacca
Dear friends
For this episode I've decided to go slightly further, to Malacca. In all honesty
I haven’t been to Malacca for a very long time, if I can recall, 40 years ago
I was there to visit my sister-in-law after she was just being transferred
there from KL. Subsequently 30 years back I was there to film a Jaya Jusco's
opening TVC. Basically I had no idea what food is good in Malacca,
thankfully my best friend’s brother-in-law. Mr. Goh is a Malaccan. Thanks
to him for giving me a whole list of food to feature. I hope this video can give you
an idea of what Malacca can offer. Please go out and support the local
street food, be it in Malacca of otherwise. Thanks and see you in the next.

Another great episode - this time featuring Malacca with various type of local dishes. The description on the Historical part is nicely pointed out with a few hilarious jokes makes it more attractive. I do missed a good popiah nowadays - that has all the appropriate ingredients and a dash of good sweet sauce and chilly sauce/paste on the popiah skin ( with some "warm" turnip gravy served with it. Good job Elmo & thank you again. 👍
Wow, fantastic video. Really informative, I am Malaccan and I learnt many things from Elmo in this video. Thumbs up.

Thanks a lot, Elmo. I have been to most of the places you shared in your videos but usually in a rush, like a fool, ended up don't know where to eat. Now, thanks to you, I know lah...Hahaha Keep up the good work. Cheers.
Good recommendations good place good foods. Thank. Mr Lee
The satay place is definitely my favourite!!! 2 years ago when 1st MCO was over, Melaka was soooo quiet including Jonker Street and the satay shop. Good to see it busy and bustling again. My friend's mom opens Nancy's Kitchen, worth to try for nyonya food as well.
Will certainly visit these food stalls. Thanks Elmo for the recommendations.

I miss Malacca food due to i was working there for 5 years....thx Uncle Elmo u bring back my good memories..
great video again, except 1 violent protest. the best pork satey is in Seremban. Onn Kee Satey in 2020 Hawker Centre. the Melaka one has lard in between meat; seremban one is pure meat - juicy and sweat; plus intestine variant. Much superior
Didn't know that Malacca has so many yummy food, from your video, I'd only tried the coconut drinks and the chicken rice ball but i tried Hainan Beh Leh pork satay and cendol, was 👍👍. Thanks again for telling the history of Malacca

Atlantic nyonya nice. I visited the restaurant twice 👍🏻
ha ha ... "return to holland" ... have not heard that for a long long time ! Some of the recommendation is spot on and some i do not even know existed and I have been staying in Melaka since 80s ! The cendol at clock tower used to be in a mangosteen style stall.. it has been there for a long time, used to eat during my school days and their quality still as good as back then.

I believe you have potential based on your contents and presentation. Keep it up. Do as a pleasure not a pressure 🤔.
I have read that Indonesia has a larger ethnic population though their percentage of the total population is lower than Malaysia's. There is no record of a princess by the name of Hang Li Po. This is something the Chinese kept meticulous records off. Some historians suspect that the "princess" was actually a courtesan, a member of Zhang He's fleet, and she was passed off as a princes (he pulled a fast one) on the Sultan, or that the Sultan pulled a fast one on his subjects.

Thanks Yoon history isn't reliable like hang tuah was a chinese, or was it so?
@YoonLeeKok
2 жыл бұрын
@@malaysiafood328 It seems that many historians do not believe Hang Tuah was a real person. So it's hard to argue if Hang Tuah was Chinese if he never existed in the first place. In anycase, I have read an article that claimed Hang Tuah was of Chinese descent, but that article does not support its contention with any solid evidence. So, I am not convinced.
正啊😄😋😋😋😋😋😋👍👍👍

Kristangs are not connected to the Baba Nyonya actually. They are Malacca Portuguese people and are mostly christians
Since the 90's, Melaka has very poor quality Nyonya food, believe it or not. All the good ones have either retired or moved to KLANG VALLEY. The best NYONYA food is in PETALING JAYA.
