I am Singaporean I work 12 hours a day plus working on Saturday supposed to be an official off day and still bring home to work on Sunday 😢 not everyone can't endure!

若 “马来西亚人比新加坡人还能吃苦”， 就等于 “孟加拉人（在马来西亚生活）比马来西亚人 （在马来西亚生活）还能吃苦”， 是一样的意思。 所以？结论就是， 当国人在本土生活， 辛苦就不愿意， 但是在他国就愿意辛苦。 就这样。

四位年輕人敢於用華語公開溝通, 這需要很大的勇氣. 雖然在表達上, 用詞上, 和發音上不盡完美, 但已經很不錯了, 加油!

苦的定义是很多的。我年轻的时候，每天做工从早到晚，睡5个小时。一直都为了家人和父母而打拼。不感觉苦。现在50岁，赚够了钱，不用工作，无事做。反而感觉很苦啊。。。😂😂😂

不认同这样的说法! 难道马来西亚的人很会吃苦! 新加坡人都是吃不起苦的人吗? 就因为新加坡比它国出色，新加坡人就吃不起苦! 那么新加坡如今的成绩是新加坡人吃不起苦的成绩而是天送的?

you think how many singaporean can do blue colar jobs? Install AC? Sweeping floor? then you will say if pay is right then they can do, then back to your question if we pay that amount well say 3-4k, how much everyone need to fork for that pay? isnt that everyone KPKB later on?

现在投诉的人不完全是新加坡人。 You will be surprised who are the commenters. Many are not singapore born. You will also be surprised to know that the negative aspects and news of Singaporeans may also be from others non Singaporeans.

Interesting. It's like a pseudo podcast. And a pretty interesting discussion. After having a kid, I don't at all think it's worth the sacrifice and time of having to go in and out of Singapore just for the sake of money. Btw I agree so much with Eric's point. It all comes down to the circumstances within which one grows up. That's why Malaysians are more able to 吃苦 - it's not because genetically they're different, but their environment and baseline, and therefore, point of comparison just means that they appear to be more resilient.

If malaysia pay the same amount for their citizen, they will not want to leave Malaysia as well......Housing and car is cheap in Malaysia ....labour price also..... Singapore pay is higher, so is the price of cars and houses. It all about what you want and sacrifices you put in to get what you want....

我的邻居是马来西亚人，读书读到form 4而已，每天做工，礼拜六也加班到几乎一整天。相反的，我这个新加坡人就没有那么拼命，只要有个平衡和对我而言圆满的生活历程，我就满足了。。。可是看他这样拼命，他的健康也受到影响，我觉得很不划算

可能是第一世界的国家环境和世代照成现代的小孩不吃苦,因为新加坡的小孩他们的将来除了父母还有新加坡政府已经帮他们规划好了

事实是刚拿到pr的马来西亚人第一想到的是买HDB,即没有公民的福利买bto 只能买resale这当然要拼命存头期。而却pr身边的朋友都会有买大房的竞争压力

Very insightful. Something I ponder about, why do some privileged descendants of wealthy families become drug users? Growing up in privileged environment has a different set of problems, so need resilience to survive. So I think both Singaporeans and Malaysians can endure hardship, just that Singapore hardship is different from Malaysia hardship.

I am sorry to say that the title does not reflect reality. There is little substance in this discussion comparing whether Singaporeans or Malaysians are hardworking. Its more like how social circumstances that form the people and I applaud Malaysians coming to Singapore to work, study and form families, especially those that from less-well off states in Malaysia to contribute to Singapore's economy. Malaysians that are forced (or rather chose) to work in Singapore is purely because of job opportunities and career prospects (currency aside) whereas Singaporeans are almost never in that circumstance and we are grateful for it.

I agree with you. Under the circumstances, Msian decides if they want to come and work in Singapore. In so doing and comparing your life back in Msia of course it will be tough. Similarly, being Singaporean and home ground, we would be seeking more comfort. That said if you ask Msian to do NS they will say tough unless there is a belonging to SG. Singaporeans perform NS because we have a country to protect and whatever comes, we have to take it. In the end, they can return home if they think they make it. But once you become a PR or citizen and own an HDB, then the stress level will be the same as a Singaporean. Ultimately if you made a choice to come to Singapore, definitely you need to make it and hence take on the pressure. I am sure you will tell those Msians who stay in Malaysia to work that they are living in comfort compared to you life working in Singapore. In the end, it is a choice.

There is not enough motivation for Singaporean to go aboard. For non blue collar workers, how many country pays better?(net after expense) easier life as compared to what they leading now?

Malaysian hard working because SG currency is 3 times Malaysia ringgit so you have to be hardworking hahahhh!!!

假设在马来西亚扫地每个月工资是500rm、来新加坡扫地也给他们相等500rm的工资、看他们还要来新加坡工作咯!马来西亚人很幸运旁边有个兑换率较高的国家可以到那里工作。新加坡人却没有。。

我們的父母也是苦盡甘來， 新加坡有今天也是政府和人民的功勞。 馬來西亞人在外國工作當然要勤勞了如果不勤勞誰要請你， 如果新加坡人在外國也是要勤勞不然誰要請你。 都是一樣的不要比來比去。 謝謝你們
