What about those Dark Mechawful.5's? Their attacks are practically the same, but they deal quite a bit more damage, and their timers "glitch out," forcing you to rely on rhythm, and that just makes timing your counterattacks even harder!

This is a perfect representation of how I feel about remixes. They should sound improved, but not so it doesn't fit with whatever it's original purpose is. *This* sounds improved and it fits with it's purpose!

Personally I'm also fine with re-purposing themes for a different in-game scenario. Like, for example, those Dire Dire Docks remixes that would go perfectly with a storm ambience. What I really don't like is when remixes end up sounding like regular songs, rather than game music.

EDIT: Another, maybe better example of what I mean is Chuckya Harbor from Super Mario Star Road. In a Snowbound Land has been remixed there such that you can't tell it used to be an ice theme unless you know. Instead, it perfectly fits its new purpose of combining Water and City ambient.

Lord Juffowup Those Dark Mechawfuls were a pain to beat, especially when their heads rebuilt their bodies to be way stronger and harder to beat. In fact, I think their powered-up forms are even harder than some of the endgame bosses!

I don't feel like Dark Mechawfs are that hard. Unless you fail to suck them in before they reform. (Hint: Your vacuum power gets way stronger when you mash both X and Y at the same time!)

This needs to be put in the remake. It would literally fit PERFECTLY with the iconic characters.

Personally, before playing Superstar Saga (in the Bowser's Minions version) I always felt like the series had been improving up until (including) Dream Team, and then Paper Jam dropped a bit. It was still a good game, but I'd rank it third after Dream Team and Bowser's Inside Story. Superstar Saga follows right after Paper Jam, and the first 4 places are quite tight, with Partners in Time being rather mediocre. Although, I probably do rank Superstar Saga above Paper Jam. I mean, it was lacking a few of the features introduced later in the series, but it was really creative in terms of both story and gameplay, and had content that never returned. And to be fair, an Attackathlon wouldn't fit with the rather simple Bros Attacks. Paper Jam had quite some stuff going on, but I kind of feel like it had all of its innovation drawn from Paper Mario, as opposed to actually adding something completely new. Also I didn't like the return to a relatively traditional Mario storyline, which M&L never really had. While Bowser always ended up as the Final Boss in some way, at the same time he also was kind of not, and that kind of became a recurring theme to me. Plus, I'm a bit bummed at what a massive opportunity it missed. I mean, the book was right there! What more perfect setting for a 2D subworld do you want? And where's Dimentio? That would've made for one of the most genius plot twists ever - Dimentio escapes the Paper World, somehow brings back Antasma, and you have to fight both of them, and maybe you even have to team up with both Bowsers! Paper Jam was still a way-above-average game, but it could've been so much more. I'm also thinking about redesigning SsS+BM, keeping the story but reorganizing some features onto the new game scheme. In particular, it felt a bit lame that they brought back the original Bros attack learning system, instead of Attack Fragments. I would keep the original Bros Attacks, but only as Retro Attacks (maybe in a 2D subworld of some sort?), and I actually have the concept for a set of Bros Attacks somewhere, including a way to include the unused Trampoline 3D from Dream Team and 2-3 fully custom ideas. Attackathlon would be less important than a Boss Arena IMO. I think I wouldn't include any kind of Giant Battles though, that would require too massive story changes. A couple of side quests into 2D Realm are easier and smoother to integrate, since they don't need to be part of the main story. It might be a good idea to try and re-create the Beta storyline though. You know, the one Badman theorized about, where Joke's End is one of the Bean Quests and all Bean Quests are about as long as the first one and/or Joke's End.

EDIT: I know, it really shows that Superstar Saga has nothing like a nostalgia bonus for me. I actually feel like Bowser's Minions built a bit too much on nostalgia, which made it more of a remaster than a remake. Don't get me wrong, I did notice it brought over the Double Jump and the 3+ Hammer physics (which I know it didn't have from playing the original in VBA up until Beanbean Castle, but then I kinda moved on to Zelda Minish Cap I think it was?), but it kept pretty much everything else the same, not even thinking about adding a Badge Meter or Battle Cards, nor a Boss Arena, nor an Attackathlon, nor even a new, more modern assortment of Bros Attacks. While it's still cool to play a remaster, without nostalgia it's a bit inferior to a remake.

Your remixes and remasters are AMAZING! I just discovered your channel thanks to the Wario subreddit showing off one of your Wario Land remixes, and then fell in love with this theme and your Ashley remixes! No one ever really touches Bowser's Inside Story aside from the final boss theme (which everyone and their mother has remixed to death already), so this is definitely a breath of fresh air! You really deserve more views for your work!

Not really. The timing is quite tight, but you quickly get the hang of it. I must admit, after they reform they can be quite a pain because of the glitching timer, but preventing that is just a matter of realizing you can make you vacuum significantly stronger by mashing both X and Y at the same time.

Dark Mechawfuls are the reason why my Bowser was underleveled. They always beat me and I pretty much just *DIPPED* out of battle.

I don't feel like it would be hard to make it loop. YTRepeat should be fine-tuneable enough to cut off the fade-in and fade-out such that the loop meets in a way that sounds right.

Is Bowser low on HP or something? He looks so tired...
