If only I had appreciated the wisdom of my elders earlier in life I could have learned so much more at a younger age.

My grandpa was very much like this. He could literally do anything with some scraps of wood. Unfortunately he passed when I was about 19 years old but he had the time to teach me a lot of useful stuff.

@@bimbo8822 обезьянний кулак или как то так этот метод называется. Когда кладут камушек в кувшин, и обезьяна попадается в ловушку, так как из-за жадности не может отпустить его. И попадает в заклин в узком горлышке

No matter how many times I see this specific technique, it still always blows my mind that it's not used more often in modern construction. It is quite literally the single most perfect seamless joint I have ever seen. It's hidden and it's strong. Frankly it is also the most creative technique I've ever seen. I don't know what that technique is called or who invented it, but I think they deserve some kind of recognition for it.

It is a stopped Mortice & Tenon. There are variations of this joint depending what is being made. 🧐 🇬🇧🍻

So good to hear from someone who has experience and admiration of craftmanship. My grandfather was a maestro in this field. He passed away in 2010. I was 17 years old. Always wanted to learn from Him but wasnt fortunate enough. My Dad and my Uncle picked up some of his skills and craftsmanship. I have huge admiration, and love for traditional craftsmanship, that was passed down from our ancestors who honed and refined it for centuries.
