ভারতের প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদি সোমবার ৮ জুলাই রাশিয়া সফরে গেছেন। মস্কোতে পা রাখার পর রুশ প্রেসিডেন্ট ভ্লাদিমির পুতিন তাঁকে স্বাগত জানান এবং উষ্ণ আলিঙ্গন করেন। বার্তা সংস্থা এএফপি জানিয়েছে, গত মাসে তৃতীয় মেয়াদে প্রধানমন্ত্রী ভারতের প্রধানমন্ত্রী হওয়ার পর প্রথমবারের মতো রাশিয়া সফরে গেলেন। এই সফর ভারত-রাশিয়ার দীর্ঘস্থায়ী সম্পর্কেরই ইঙ্গিত দেয়।
মস্কোয় থাকা ভারতীয়দের সঙ্গে কুশল বিনিময়ের পর মস্কোর অদূরে নভো ওগারিওভোতে পুতিনের বাসভবনে অনানুষ্ঠানিক বৈঠক করেন মোদি। এরপর মোদিকে চা পান করার পুতিন এবং গলফ কোর্টে চড়ে আস্তাবল পরিদর্শনে নিয়ে যান।
সামাজিক যোগাযোগমাধ্যম এক্সে পুতিনের সঙ্গে আলিঙ্গনাবদ্ধ একটি ছবি পোস্ট করেছেন মোদি। সেখানে লিখেছেন, ‘আজ সন্ধ্যায় আমরা একটি আনন্দঘন মুহূর্ত কাটিয়েছি। আগামীকাল আমরা আবারও আলোচনায় বসায় অপেক্ষায় রয়েছি। আশা করি আমাদের দ্বিপক্ষীয় বৈঠক ভারত ও রাশিয়ার বন্ধুত্বকে আরও সুদৃঢ় করবে।’
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Russia on Monday, July 8. Upon his arrival in Moscow, he was welcomed and warmly embraced by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Last month, the third-term prime minister visited Russia for the first time since becoming India's prime minister, news agency AFP reported. The visit is indicative of the long standing relationship between India and Russia.
After exchanging pleasantries with Indians in Moscow, Modi held an informal meeting at Putin's residence in Novo Ogaryovo, near Moscow. Modi was then taken on a tea-drinking tour of Putin's stables and a ride on the golf course.
