This is the best version of rendition of the kruti by Maharaja Swathi Thirunal I have ever heard. The great musician, the legend MDR Sir, has given absolute thought in his rendition bringing out the nuances of each raga in the ragamalika. The accompanists are also superb. This is also by far the best in knowing the shithya (lyrics) and padacheda (splitting of words) within the lyrics. I could write down the lyrics from the rendition except a couple of words. This beautiful song, in chaste Sanskrit, was originally composed bymahArAjA svAti tirunAL, as a k.rti in the (single) rAgam, sAvEri, and set to rUpaka tALam. After more than 100 years, it was carved out as a rAgamAlika, with built-in cittasvarams by the doyen of karNATik music, Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer. This is the version that is currently in vogue. Popularized by M. S. Subbalakshmi, Bhavayami Raghuramam is a wonderful Ragamalikai in which 7 Ragas beginning from Saveri followed by Nattaikurunji, Dhanyasi, Mohanam, Mukhari, Poorvi Kalyani, Madhyamavati are used for rendering each verse. Rama constructed bridge over the sea gloriously. He vanquished all demons and the ten-headed Ravana. He went to Ayodhya with Sita who was sanctified by fire. After the Coronation Sri Rama ruled the world gloriously.

truely giver of rasanandam and nadanandam . I am lucky enough toget it to hear because I could not expect thiru Mr.ramanadams from air archieves and worried these disappeared. however, whole music lovers are also lucky to have this treasure render by this legend.

Sir...the Sanskrit diction of MDR in this rendering is perfect. It's a challenge not to pollute the lyrics. As always, MDR has taken great care, I feel...

everything is excellent but pronunciation is not good.... one should be able to get the song by listening... but it doesn't happen in this case

If you are not familiar or knowledgeable about Sanskrit, you will not be able to get the words by mere listening. The fault is not with the musician.
