I used to listen to Manifest around 2000. Legend of hip hop. The first time us South Africans realised other Africans were dope too was through people like Manifest. That class of 99 to early 2000s rappers Manifest, Tumi(StogieT), Proverb, HHP, you could put them up against any rapper in the world from the same era or any era. To think they are still ill should tell you alot about them. Ghana stand up from SA. You also can never compare rappers from the UK to guys like Manifest and Stogie because they've always been this good, infact im 38 and i remember they were actaully much more raw and poetic then. Mos def used to come and do cyphers in this country around 99, 2000. He knows these guys. The internet has simply introduced them to people who were closed to developments in other countrys especially Africa mostly driven by ignorance, ethnocentrism and americacentrism
