The worse decision that WT has made is changing the rules so that a touch to the head can score. Why? I get that they were encouraging athletes to go for the head more, but it is hurting the sport.

Даже как то стыдно на "это" смотреть сейчас , во что превратили боевое искусство ! Занимался WTF ещё в конце 90х - самом начале 200Х г и тогда было всё по другому , тренировался с чемпионами России ( тогда был чемпионат ВС , как мне объясняли ) - было на что смотреть и чему учиться , а не вот это вот всё ......

There needs to be a way to measure impact strength. Touch fighting is the reason why European swordsmanship turned into sport fencing and a complete joke.

It's not a joke. It's a difficult sport to master. Go watch MMA if you like seeing people get hurt and knocked out 🙄

Further more no lateral movement no circular stepping no combinations, i mean some one tell me why they stand in kicking range and no fakes and why on earth are they not use it there back foot, very curious to see if these young cats would survive 15 years ago

The issue is it seems obvious that Taekwondo as a technical combat art was based on power generation that involved centrifugal force of the body in order to help with that power generation. When you score points based on touch fighting there's no need for power generation. In my opinion I think Taekwondo rules need to be adjusted somehow where power matters.

The scoring system is stupid.

The Korean fighter technically is a great fighter, anyway very good competition.

Why do they always come up with a kid or someone else younger than themselves by holding their hands as well?

Well its still better than people having the same height but different weights like a guy can be alot heavier than the guy he fighting then obviously the who's heavier hits harder

no, you can not use the same hit in a fight to tall and small opponent, to the small is too much to spend energy on the tall and besides as the tall has more scope. the only way is. counterattack and reduce the space btw them more as can. and about the feet on the headgear roll on the opposite said and hit. i preacticed kung fu before

Дураки, сейчас новое тхэквондо победит старое по любым правилам , успокойтесь . Тогда не было никакой тактики просто рубилово, сейчас очень много думать надо, и вообще если говорить о зрелищности может быть тогда и по зрелищнее было, но сейчас явно тхэквондо один из самых красивых видов спорта
