Lzzy Hale Interview | The Artist Centre

Музыка

Epiphone signature artist, Lzzy Hale dropped into The Artist Centre last December after her sold-out Enmore Theatre show in Sydney with Halestorm to give us some really interesting and heartfelt insights into her experience and navigating the music industry. Thanks Lzzy! Was an absolute pleasure! Rock n Roll is in very safe hands.

This is genuinely pretty much the whole interview. She is such a pro, did it all in one take! We just had to cut in the questions!

I'm still waiting for more females to be represented in metal drums (particularly tech and speed metal, plzkthx) There are dudes running around telling women "we have too many females in metal"....? That's-... Talk about not knowing your audience..... Serious question, does ANYBODY feel like "meh we already have ONE, no reason for more".........? Like.... It's unfortunate that some people prolly want more females in metal 'cuz they want more eye candy in metal.......... But who are the people running around actively wishing there were - ..... fewer females in metal........? I mean, incels, obvi, but like - ..... what....? Never known a single friend to say "gosh, if only there were fewer females playing metal music". That's..... literally the opposite of what people say. Female musicians aren't "not in vogue", they just aren't as popular nor as prevalent. And I'm pretty sure that's only 'cuz of twats like you running around and asserting this unfortunate happenstance as "they way people want it" How desperate for money do you have to be to think keeping females out of the metal scene is going to be a good idea....? I mean you're REALLY looking WAAAAYYYYY too hard for [non-applicable] patterns. Are you also crossing your fingers and saying a prayer, maybe wishing on a star...? 'Cuz that don't work either, you might as well run the gambit of non-sense self-assured bs attempts at "solutions" while you're at it. Ya know, there also aren't a lot of orthodox Jewish bands in the metal scene either. Maybe that's also why you make money....? Have you considered telling orthodox Jewish people to stay out as well....? Or does racism/anti-Semitism go too far for you....? Ooh, but misogyny is cool.....? Spoiler alert to any booking agents and record label employees; I don't care what the musicians look like. I def don't care which sex organs they're hiding under their clothes. I don't care what "type" of people they are. Do they write good metal music....? If yes, then *put 'em on the fuqqin stage, shut up, and stay in the background*. And I mean WAAAYYY in the background. Otherwise you might get slapped for being the dude who told this chick not to get on stage two days ago
