kidult feels like a love letter to your younger self. these times, when you hit your 18-20's, people automatically brand you as an adult even though some of us arent even ready to be responsible yet-- we're too young to be a funtioning adult, and too old to be treated as a kid. burden and responsibilities are already passed to us even though we're not ready yet, bc we havent even experienced much of life so we're not sure if every decisions we make is the right thing to do or not. we're literally moving in trial and error, constantly checking and checking if we fucked up something precious in our life. in essence, this song is telling us that it's okay to both be a kid and an adult at the same time. we can cry when we feel sad, or be mature about situations and hide our hearts from our sleeves - both are okay, because we're humans and it's okay to fuck up things sometimes bc that's how we learn and we grow. it's telling us to stop hiding our real self, and for the kid inside our hearts to stay forever with us. basically, kidult good seventeen best boys

I have two years till I experience that, I'm still 16, but this is still my favourite song..

I also think one of the reasons why the lyrics is really good is bec. when cheol wrote this, he was in hiatus and writing this was his way to express his feelings. It must've been hard for him but he made this song so well. Aside from the heavenly vocals, the lyrics should be praised. Seungcheol being the main writer of Kidult is amazing. Thank you to the other members who organized the lyrics with him.

Idk why people think this song is about missing being a kid, its not its about embracing the youth that once had, what you learned from it and live with it , living like and adult and feeling like a kid, work hard like and adult and rest like a kid. Its about understanding that being an adult doesn't take away that you are a person who deserves love, healing and support. You never are too old to feel, being an adult is understanding that there is and will always be a kid inside you that needs to be protected and loved, a kid that will cry when life is hard because you are all humans with emotions

1:00 in dks part, "its okay, your world is precious, so precious. just as you are right now. stay here with me" just reminds me how special your childhood is. i connect to this song because im honestly quite scared of growing up. it all seems a bit daunting to me and i just want to stay as a child forever. its frfr quite a big change. "stay here with me" makes me really sad whenever i hear that line :(( it just reminds me both seventeen and carats will eventually have to grow up, and leave eachothers comfort. for me its like a way of seventeen telling us to stay with them forever. (as well as maybe not growing up too fast??) "its okay, your world is precious, so precious" is a lyric i interpret about your childhood. cause its where people go through majority of their ups and downs, their own hardships and changes. i see this lyric as a way of seventeen comforting and assuring us we're worthy idkk this is just my own interpretation of these lines !!

dk's part makes me feel something on the inside and i don't know if i'm supposed to be sad or comforted. but i love how it makes me feel.

i can't listen to this song in public without tearing up. i've been a fan of svt since mansae era, back when i was only in 9th grade, and now i'm about to graduate uni! i've grown up alongside svt and i've never really had the chance to look back at my younger self and see how much i've changed. in your early 20s, you're suddenly hit with so many responsibilities that you've never been prepared for, and you're never given time to properly process your emotions too. when i first heard this song, i was crying so hard, especially after reading the lyrics. it felt like an old friend that i grew up with was telling me that it's okay to cry, it's okay to feel pain, it's okay to act let your inner child free sometimes - and this was the type of assurance i never got while growing up. svt and carats have always been Home to me, no matter how many new groups i listen to. i want to thank svt for being there for me during my darkest times, you've saved me countless times and it hurts to know that i won't ever be able to show you how much you've truly impacted me. to my fellow carats, no matter how old you get, or even if you stop listening to svt, i hope they've been able to provide you comfort and warmth through your toughest times. thank you seventeen for being the best part of my youth

I am 22 and still haven't graduated college. I wasted three years of my life preparing for an exam that I never wanted to because I thought passing that exam would make me a doctor which will make my parents proud. But instead I failed miserably. I let them down, I let myself down. Now I am pursuing a normal college degree. All of my school classmates graduated from college two years ago and most of them already got a job. And here I am miserable and frustrated thinking about my life. I don't know if things are even gonna work for me cause I feel like I am already too late to achieve anything. Why am I such a failure? Why couldn't my life be like everyone? Why me, God? Where did I went wrong? Why am I in this situation? It's all because of me, no one is to blame but myself. I am pathetic. But still, I am trying, I am trying to make myself proud... (I wrote this here cause I don't have any friends/lover with whom I can share all these and I wanted to let out everything I was feeling cause I couldn't suppress my emotions any longer. This song gave me some mental peace.🌸)

I started tearing up from this one question in my math classwork. It hurt me so much especially knowing that finals are coming up. I closed the book and decided to just sob quietly. I wanted comfort and i pulled up this song. Its comforted me so much. This song is special. I'm feeling pressured bcuz i didn't want to dissapoint my parents again and im incredibly scared and anxious for finals. When i listened to this, i enjoyed it and when the part where DK sings "gwaenchana", i understood that part from my definitely flawless korean skills lol, and it spoke to saying things like "its okay, and things will be fine. Its alright to cry" and those are the words i needed to hear the most. Im still here sobbing from math tbh, and i have to join a zoom meeting with my math teacher in a few mins. If someone actually took the time to read this, thank you so much, with all my heart. Im sorry for ranting off like this on the internet and for wasting your time, but if you actually did read this, you dont know how thankful i am. It makes me so glad that someone took the time to read about what i go through. I feel safe here with seventeen and carats hehe. If you are still here, hear me out. You're an amazing person and no one can change that. You always were, is, and will forever be. Sometimes life can be a piece of crap, so its okay to cry, like a kid. Theres no harm in crying. Trust me, things will get better, even a stranger like me on the internet can tell u that. Again, if you really did stay to the end, thank you, so gosh darn hecking much. Aww.. i sort of understand what you're feeling. I've cried too many times this school year because of math, because I was never the person to understand how math works. It frustrates me not being able to solve equations on my own which will lead to me thinking about all the things I'm not good at. I also end up crying because it's hard.. but yeah you're right. This song definitely comforts us on times like this. I'm so thankful to Seventeen for creating their own music that everyone can relate to. You can do it carat! Thank you for your kind words and I know you'll make it too. Don't be hard on yourself! It's okay to rest so that you can refresh your mind. We're always here :)
