The difference between this and the album version is so drastic that you can barely even recognize it as the same song. It's so different in fact that I would recommend checking the album version out next before continuing the Alexander Theatre sessions while this one is still fresh in your mind! Also the music video is directed by the same guy who directed the Carnival of Rust video.

The original album version is an uptempo rock piece, that is so powerful you won’t believe it’s the same song. Brilliant video too, full of meaningful symbolism to underline the lyrics. Can’t wait for you to compare the two.

They are just amazing. The original Lift is so great to experience live, they do it so well, so much energy, but this version is also dear to my heart. I also think that in order to create these session they had to go through almost 18 years of creating songs to be able to go so bold and have just a piano and a voice, there is certain maturity in these sessions that wouldn't be possible without all they have done before. It is also a pleasure to see people discover Poets, they are just so awesome.

The original version is so energetic and uplifting and this version feels very melancholy and sad

The original is one of my Favorites by them so I will always prefer that but This Version keeps growing on me every time I listen to it.

This is one of those versions which is so different from the original. To perfect songs still.

ATS Lift might be the most different from the original version.

You really should check the live performance of this in it`s original form in their Moscow concert in 2013, with the crazy ending. It is such an epic performance and very different from this one.

Yes, this version is so radically different in arrangement and intensity, I'm not sorry to say that I don't like it. My son introduced me to the band years ago with the studio version of Lift. It's likely also true that this version interferes with my idealized memory as it relates to me and my son.

I like this version and the original version. I prefer the original but this version is so gentle and the piano playing is excellent.
