Steve Gains was so good. Guitar, Vocals, Composer Gave LS a new energy
Greatest American Rock Band North, South, East or West... PERIOD!!!!
Steve Gaines vocals compliment Ronnie, add in his guitar work and Billy tickling the ivories and it's such a great song!
Steve Gaines, the lead guitarist for Lynyrd Skynyrd, also sang the lead vocals with Ronnie on You Got That Right.

I bought this record brand new with the flames me and a bunch of my friends were listening to it on a turntable we listen to it two times we said we're going to go see them when they come to town we turned on the radio and they said that the plane that had went down and that a few of the members of Lynyrd Skynyrd had died we were listening to that record as the plane was going down. one of my friends that was with us just passed away last week I used to sing this song to him because he was settling down with a girl his name was Stevie Collins from Newport Kentucky

Remembering Steve Gaines born on September 14, 1949. He was an American musician. He is best known as a guitarist and backing vocalist with rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd from 1976 until his death in the October 1977 airplane crash that claimed other band members and crew. Gaines' guitar-picking and songwriting skills were a major revelation to the band, as demonstrated on his one studio album, 1977's Street Survivors. Steve's contributions included his co-lead vocal with Ronnie on the co-written "You Got That Right" (a solid hit single released after the plane crash) and the rousing guitar boogie "I Know a Little" which he had written before he joined Skynyrd. - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Gaines

I believe Steve Gaines wrote this song
Yeah LS were a bunch of hell raisin' unreconstructed boys, but the best Southern rockers? Let's please recognize that Southern rock started in 1969 w/ "Whipping Post" by the Allman Brothers. They, for over 30 years, went swig for swig w/ Skynyrd and still had room for an ounce of blow and a double handful of mushrooms, all the while recruiting and nurturing the tastiest of musicians.

As a Skynyrd fan I gotta say I'm not a fan of this album. Van Zant was ahead over heels about Gaines bit his stuff sounds like the Doobie Brothers and not the gritty Skynyrd. Listen to Gaines' solo album and its more soul and funk than southern rock.
