This song helped me through the worst heartbreak of my life. In the summer of June 2009 I found out my girlfriend at the time who I overly emotionally invested in had two completely different relationships with men outside of ours. I spiraled into a deep, dark depression that lasted roughly 3-4 months. Nearly lost my job, went broke, lost hope in life, contemplated suicide, drank ungodly amounts of bourbon but I took my power back in September when I refused to live like that ever again. I set some goals, took my power back, put this on a loop for 4 weeks straight as my theme song. The power of musical healing is the best. RIP Gary and rest of the boys.. Thank you.

This song speaks to me about losing friends, torn heartaches, past girlsfriends with no sympathy, I've been played, betrayed, hurt, injured, fallen. I've got up on my feet on my own and I don't depend on nobody but me. Also personally I've been told to all doubters, naysayers and doctors that I can't be anything in life. I had a fractured ankle when I was 11 and been in the hospital for 4 months they scarred my entire shin. I've been mocked, bullied called names like "walking zombie", "undead kid", "corpse" and all that. Those days are over. Just goes to show all the difference between I can't and I can... I WILL!!! To me the lyrics are about the band, that has had members die left and right, even few more while working on God & Guns album; the band that has had all that and more happen in the last fifty years, is still alive, still unbroken.

As much as I love the Lynyrd Skynyrd classics of the 70's this particular song became a very personal song for me it is my recovery song and when I feel I can't take anymore I put it on

To all the haters, they might have lost everything they had but they're still unbroken, still alive and still making great music. The days of Free Bird and Sweet Home Alabama are over so get over it. Bands and people change. If bands never changed, then you would complain that they always sound the same. There's just no pleasing some people.

I found this song from one of my wrestling games, by far one of the best songs by this band.
