Wonder Woman at least in modern day comics, when she gets into a fight she can get down and dirty like Xena. The difference is that Diana is more diplomatic and forgiving, and not as eager for combat like Xena is. Of course if the bad guy is a ruthless murderer, Wondy will kill him because unlike Supes and Bats she doesn't have a no killing rule.

There's nothing wrong with being eager for combat..there's a level.of evil that just needs dealt with .

Two great acting women Lynda Carter and Lucy Lawless. Love them both.

Xena wasn't butch, she didn't try to be a man, she just kick butt like one. If you notice, she used her sexuality and power over man a lot in the series. Lucy would definitely agree that Wonder Woman was classy and that Xena wasn't. It's not a bad thing, it's just 2 different women playing 2 different parts in 2 different era's. And I loved both of them.

*Like W.W., Xena is only popular with women now due to the neo-con women's empowerment movement, which honestly is nothing but a load of ish. For ex: I distinctly remember when many women couldn't stand...* *the character Wonder Woman, or let alone Linda Carter for playing her. They hated her with a passion, especially the ole bear skin rug, robe wearing, Jake from State Farms house whale that looked like Rosie O'Donnell.* *Those women could often be found admonishing their husbands for watching it, or making them so miserable during the show that they had to flee like a b from their own leisure time activity, smh* *Same as with Xena.....They hated her too, especially women's groups. Fast forward to the present and now all of a sudden the SJW's and Butch Patrol alike act as if they've always loved and looked up to both, smh & lol.* *Meanwhile back on earth, and honestly speaking....The biggest fan base for both characters is and always was men.*

I love Wonder Woman and Xena and Lynda and Lucy are both very talented actresses and really cool and down to earth women, I love watching their interviews. As for her Xena comment, many writers today (cough cough Brian Azzarello) try to make Wonder Woman into Xena and while they are both blue eyed, brunette warrior princesses, Wonder Woman is more than that and she is different from Xena. She's more similar to Gabrielle because she's more feminine than Xena and has a gentle side and a tenderness to her and she operates from her heart and wears her heart on her sleeve. Xena operated from her heart too and while both characters are intelligent and resourceful and badass, Xena is a more flawed character and she's a cathartic motivational hero, while Wonder Woman is an aspirational hero. Love them both and they have some simila ties, but Wonder Woman is still a little more like Gabrielle, though she's her own hero, and so is Xena.

I think her feelings are bittersweet because i think she'd love to have been taken more seriously like xena was. They are very different shows and i thnk that without the sucess of wonderwoman and the like xena would not have had the chance in the first place. i love them both

Lynda and Lucy are just both so good.

How she means classy????When comes to fight if the warrior woman give attention to not break one of her nail that's not classy..that's ridiculous..Xena was a wild like a barbarian warrior...How many like Xena character have we seen on tv or in movies? NONE!How many "classy" characters like Wonder Woman" have we seen? A lot..

it was a hit in lating america and europe too,even in asia it insipered other characters. comic wonder woman is a great haracter with great stories,it's not for kids only,it has dark moments and she has to face many struggles in her life,wonder woman has a meaning,the way she is,she treats people equally,she hasn't prejudices,she is compassionate and protective like a mother,and powerful and imposing like a warrior.

Xena is how Wonder woman should be. I love Linda Carter though but more for her beauty than her portrayal of the Amazon princess.

No not really, Xena is more warrior woman rooted in pulp and high fantasy. Wonder Woman is an anti-war pacifist -- if anything one informs and contrasts the other in an amazing dialogue. I rather suspect Wonder Woman's mother and aunts to be similar to Xena.

lynda carter wonder woman was a hit worldwide,and you can't compare a family show like all the TV shows were in the 70s with a show from the 90s and 2000s,if wonder woman was portrayed in TV the way that she is in the comics,you would have a different opinion about her,comic wonder woman is compassionate but she is also a badass warrior with god like powers.

I've seen both. Lucy Lawless and I are the same age. Nothing against Xena or Lucy but I think Linda's comments are RIGHT ON! Linda's Wonder woman was and is more feminine and classy. Xena is more like a "biker chick" in attitudes and mannerisms. Watch what you like I say but my favorite IS WonderWoman!!

i like them both she is right but both fought for the same reason to right the wrongs and bring back balance and to help those who needed it

Xena wouldn't have been born if not for Wonder Woman.

I wouldn't say WW was stronger than Xena in the way of physical strength per say, but she did have super powers where as Xena was a brute of a warrior. Also I like that Xena had demons and flaws, as we all do in one way or another, but I can also appreciate WW fights for justice and good and is more pure. It's nice we live in a world where we have both heroes as a contrast to one another that we can enjoy.

@syfygirl82 lol. Wonder Woman always has her costume on. it takes her only a couple seconds to get the outer layers off.

I think Xena was a role that would have usually been reserved for a man: she fought like a man, and I think perhaps if wonder woman were made today, i think she probably would be more like xena and less beauty pagent.

If WW was in the 90's ...........there would be Amazon vs Red Sonja ............totally different ladies ....one would ask 1st the other would just fight .......Then WW would just take her OUT!!

that's why we can't compare,i enjoyed lynda show for what it is,even thought is not as deep and interesting as the wonder woman from the comic,wonder woman paid the way for action females in comics,just like xena paid the way fror many action females in TV shows. and we can't compare xena and wonder woman,they have different stories,different personalities,there is no comparetion power-wise either,i konw tarantino loves xena,and i think he is a wonder woman fan too.

Xena is NOT an amazon. In fact she's killed amazons when she was a warlord.

Xena is making up for those crimes and in the end, she sacrifices her life to save the souls of those she killed. But she did become Queen by defeating Malosa. I assume she gave up being queen, I can't remember.

@UThink UCan My point was Xena was considered an enemy to many amazons like Varia because she killed their sisters in the past. Xena was not and was never amazon, she was never apart of any amazon tribe. You can't just call any warrior woman an amazon. Her sidekick Gabrielle was an actual amazon. When Gabrielle participated in amazon ceremonies Xena had to actually leave because she wasn't one of them. If you didn't watch the show just say that.

Xena was good in the beginning but not later on especially when we learn of her past

Xena came up sort of Ghetto while Wonder Woman was brought up as a member of Royalty and had certain obligations. However both women understood and respected traditions so to say Xena was classless wouldn't be fair. However she isn't classy in the same way Wonder Woman is.

So basically you are saying Wonder woman is ok, as long as she can go back and bake cookies after she fights the bad guys. I think a lot of men are scared of her, but then most (american) men are scared of strong women. Which is why hilary clinton gets such a hard time.

Hmmm have to say I prefer Xena over Wonderwoman anyday. Xena says it like it is - Wonderwoman well....

Xena has a completely different backstory than Wonder Woman. She started out as a villain originally. She is a better more interesting character anyway, so to call her a poor man's WW is inaccurate.

Xena is awesome. Her character wasn't trying to fit into traditional female stereotypes. And her character was more developed and complex. We see her grow as a person from a antisocial traumatized criminal to an embassador of peace in her reincarnation.
