Thanks again for these basic videos. While more experienced reloaders will already know all about this, for a guy just getting started, this is really helpful.

@GT1Man Yeah, they all are a little "tippy". However, for the money the Lyman has been spot on.

I'd like to see a side by side comparison between this Lyman Pro 500 and their new Brass Smith 500...

Greetings from New York BrandoMcWillie: I have the same Lyman 500 Mechanical Scale you demonstrated in your video. And my question is this. I noticed that once I get passed 5 grains I didn't know how to zero it! For example I was weighing my bullets and it came out 187 grains on my Frankford Arsenal Digital scale but when I tried to weigh it my Lyman Scale I didn't know how to zero it. How do I do this on the Mechanical Scale?

i have the Old Model Made in the USA for about 30 Yrs now.? No problems it's well made & accurate etc.? I trust this scale over those newer electronic scales.? That are problematic,? With worry of Static,? And Room change temp etc.?

I double check all of my Powder weights using my electronic scale along with my Beam Scale to check the accuracy of the loads etc.

Is the base metal (cast?) Or plastic? How heavy is it?
