Lyle laid all the stripes on my Harley way back in 2004, just before I brought it and shipped it to Australia, and yes it is a real talking point and I treasure my cycle!

Was lucky to come across Lyle 3 years ago to have him come out and stripe my wife's new car. She fixed breakfast for us and a lot of good chat about the old days. He striped my first '84 Corvettes when I was GM for a Chevrolet dealer in El Cajon. So many times people stop my wife and I and talk about Lyle and when he "did" their vehicles.

Cool. You can purchase the DVD of the Von dutch Project featuring Lyle and the ex wife, daughters and many others. It took two years to shoot this. It's the only documentary ever done about Dutch. thevondutchproject.com/ Keep trukin'

WOW sweet Norm, glad that Lyle is getting some present day exposure.I chat with Lyle from time to time and feel bad that I have been somewhat disconnected with both of you. Stuck here in Utah til I retire in 2016. I work as a coater on the F22. Still lettering and living some of the past. You guys played a big role in how I grew up and I appreciate what we did together. ac

I can't believe there really is a guy named Bob Daniels. As a kid I was an inquisitive dude and every time I was in Lyle's shop I'd pepper him with stupid questions. One of my most repeated was "Wow, who owns this car?" Lyle would always respond, "Bob Daniels." LOL.

I knew Lyle from about 1967, both having the same interest in striping and other media. He was born in January of 1940 and I in April of that same year. He lived in Del Dios, CA., near Escondido and drove a 1950 Merc. All that talent, and humble too! I visited him at his shop on all too rare occasions. Love the guy, and wish him well.

Just an update on my buddy Lyle, he moved to Maricopa, Az. So that we could pal around restoring Von Dutch Bus , well Maricopa is about 60 miles from my shop and the bus , but he did it a bunch of times ,and I’m grateful, the point is Lyle would Love to do some pinstriping and isn’t... He is worth the effort of going to Maricopa for him to do your pride and joy..honest Lyle is revered with names like Von Dutch ,Jeffries, And our close friend Ed “Big Daddy” Roth, call me 602-284-1230, it’s my cell phone I’ll get you in touch with one of the last Masters left..
