I'm 70 years old, music fan. Love "I Never Learn" album. Her songwriting gives me an early 1960's feel, the singing and sound as if a lost girl group/artist from then, like a Shangri-La's for today.

When Lykke Li first kind of broke out in US media in 2010-2011, I was living in South Beach at the time and spent a lot of time with friends there and we were _all_ really captivated with the Wounded Rhymes album. The one before I Never Learn, I think. It was really fresh while retaining that 1960s feel at times, like you say.

Coming way late to this comment, but Cheryl is a genius at what she does. She meets each artist where they are and is very giving and graceful in her interviews. I love Lykke Li but she's not making it the easiest exchange here and Cheryl is being very adept at handling it.

I think music is one of the most powerful forms of artistic expression. And she and her colleagues are quite possibly one of the most original, yet otherworldly group of artists I have encountered during my short time here on planet Earth. Amazing. I believe this art that we're hearing transcends time and space and perhaps allows us to enter a wormhole through space time. I know this isn't kosher to mix astronomy and physics with music and art, but life is short, and this forum gives me the opportunity to say what I please. And I thank you for listening to my fleeting, transitory comment.

There must be a reason (synaptic nerve? Neuron's firing? Neurological explanations?) for the way in which a few words from a song can take you far back in time. 80's music for example takes me right back to middle school and high school---good memories and bad:)

+Steve Pete since ya, bring it up...all of the things you mentioned are actually involved. I am not an expert, nor do I need to be. It;s pretty basic actually, when we feel good, we remember not only the feeling, but the circumstances around it. Anything that brings us back to that place therefore seems magical, and perhaps rightly so. Very universal experience, yet highly individualized.
