Lydia Thankyou another excellent Lydialogue ! Medieval History fascinating period or topic i guess we don't always 'progress' or move forwards & that we can sometimes periods of history go backwards ,skills lost , Art Architecture , Sculpture , lack of Philosophical inquiry thinking topics repressed because of an obsession with religious ideology & the need for control

i personally like history books or biographies that offer something more than just stale travelogue catalogue dates names reforms dates wars ' .'.he went there 'or 'here 'met this person 'that person introduced this reform signed this treaty .... i agree history ordinary every day people persons far more fascinating ....... so much of history or our experience of it daily lives happens beyond our use of words , ...poetry art more meaningful way to re interpret experience history
