This piece is about bringing down the light and vitality of source energy, and I can't think of a better day to bring it down than the one day in the whole year where that light is at its peak! Astrologically the solstice occurs the moment that the Sun reaches 0 degrees of tropical Cancer - a cardinal water sign that prompts us to think less and feel more.
This 2 minute section of choreography from our Zodiacal piece is called "LVX" and it is ripe with embodied ancient symbols! The sequence of movements, timing and the certain characters/dancers assigned to those movements is everything. For this piece 12 artists showed up to represent the entire Zodiacal Ecliptic with the 4 families of elements and 3 families of modalities.
In its most pure essence, LVX or latin Lux means "Light" and more specifically in magickal circles, it means "Spiritual Light". Today on the solstice, the brightest day in the Northern Hemisphere - we dance in the light. May we bathe in its power and its mercy - and may we forever remember that we are ONE when we embrace our light.
