Puerto Vallarta is one of Mexico's most affordable coastal towns, with plenty of pristine beaches and street markets, as well as an old town with a Spanish colonial atmosphere.
I can almost afford both. Give me a few more days in the market with my Apple and Tesla stock. But the idea of owning property in a foreign county scares me. I know a lot of guys who have done it here in The Philippines (where us foreigners cannot own land, so they buy in their Filipina wife’s name). Even when nothing goes wrong it seems much more a hassle than I’d want to contend with. Better to rent, pick up and go if you get restless or political context goes pair-shaped.

I understand that the "view" out of that shower would be spectacular. But Telescopes are sold worldwide. It’s naïve to think there are no telescopes in the buildings below in such a scenic part of the world. You can expect that every bride who has stayed at that villa has been gawked at while showering. I’d frost those shower windows and enjoy the view from the other dozens of windows instead.
