I agree she should return them. I doubt she wore them more than 10 times before she noticed the tiny defect. They are too expensive to have such a flaw.

Psychologically, if you reframe your thoughts from “getting rid of it” to finding it a new home where it’ll be loved and used as much as it deserves, that may help you let go of things that you’re not loving or using as much as you feel you should ❤

On the Balenciaga stuff that we bought prior the controversy. I also bought their sneakers with my best intentions and wore them maybe 3 times before it became a No Go. After a couple of months of feeling super uncomfortable wearing them I decided I’m gonna use them. I know I am totally against what they did, other people can think what they want. But really most people, you’re gonna meet on the streets, have no idea what happened. For our community it was a big thing, but worldwide just a brief news that people only read the headlines and forgot. But if those people have something against you wearing clothes you spent your hard earned money on, they are free to buy them from you/me and burn them. I definitely won’t buy any new ones, but just wasting a piece of expensive clothes isn’t a right and conscious thing either. I understand that for you being an influencer, posting your outfits online, there is a unnecessary high risk of unnecessary criticism...

You should care, because of your self, not what others think. I have a lot of there stuff, so does my 12 year daughter too. I don't wear it, I did throw it away, and I don't want to be connected to some brand like that, because of my self, not others. Because having there stuff now is a statement, and a bad one. I'm not an influencer, obviously, but everybody knows what happened. My reputation as a business woman, a mother, and in general an intelligent woman would be ruined. Again you where this on your face.

I completely understand your Balenciaga dilemma. I have a couple of city bags pre Demna, but because of the scandal I don’t feel comfortable wearing them. I think when there is a change at Balenciaga (ie goodbye Demna) it’ll be fine to wear what we have, because we aren’t supporting what happened.

Fendi is a bit disappointing with certain items as of lately. Not only the shoes, but I also heard quite a few stories about the bag handles breaking (Not fabric, but the plasticy kind) and even already arriving broken. I feel like that with all of my designer items, I have had no such issues as holes and such thus far. Fingers crossed 🤗

I feel the same way. Lately I’ve been looking at the leather baguettes (I have some vintage early 2000s pieces that I love and was considering the updated version) and compared to my 2006 one they feel… well, different. Same for the canvas pieces, I have a Pequin Boston bag and it just feels more robust. I do realize that those fashion houses work on their materials to make them softer, lighter etc. and don’t want to enter the ‚it used to be better’ chat but in some instances it just feels like it actually did.

Exactly the same thing happened to mine last week (in the white). 5 weeks 7 wears max. Fendi were amazing and offered to replace. I exchanged towards a bag because I could see happening again 😢 I miss them but not for that $$$

Chanel classic flap! I've had mine since 2005 but I just hate using her now because they are eeeeverywhere and I don't want people thinking I dropped £10k on a Chanel bag. Also bought a Phoebs-era Celine triangle bag...suuuper beautiful but the handles are SO HEAVY it just ain't worth the agg 😪

My Coach and Michael Kors sneakers have the same issue with that crease. I didn’t know about crease guards (thank you for that info(, but there would not be enough room for the guards and my toes! It is good to know that designer shoes have the same issue.

Back in the day, designer shoes were expensive because of quality and comfort, but this no longer applies today. SAD! 🙄 I feel the same about wearing my Balenciaga bags (some I love) and clothes. But I am not ready to part with them. Cassie, take the shoes back to Fendi and show them the wear and tear.

So many sports shoes have mesh. That's definitely a design issue. Loved this video, as usual, you did an awesome job.

yes!! the first time I wore my Prada sneakers was horrendous, but I think mine broke in after a few more shorter outings. She's still a half day kind of a shoe for me, but thankfully no longer painful and very comfortable now.

Thank you for your honesty. While I don't generally buy luxury (yet, but more to do with budget), I don't want my hard earned money to be wasted on any purchase. Unfortunately, I have been disappointed by an Anine Bing bag that I purchased. The lock closure turned out to be flimsy and broke. I got it repaired at great cost, but within weeks, it broke again. I am hugely disappointed and heartbroken as I loved this bag. Alas, I could not have foreseen this when I purchase it.

@@notme1255 Ok, the scandal is warranted and it was distasteful but Balenciaga was not molesting children here. I think we can all agree, it was poorly done on their part but to equate that to child abuse is too much. I don't own anything Balenciaga, I don't buy it either but it was a poorly done photoshoot. They weren't being the catholic church here. I think we should criticize companies for what they've done and not equate it to what is incredibly much worse that they didn't do. Having kids holding BDSM teddy bears is incredibly creepy and disgusting but being abused as a child is beyond that.

Cassie sis I bought the multi pochette because I saw your vid right when it dropped 😂 I immediately went on a hunt & wore it a lot! Now I tend to use it more for its parts. I tend to avoid logos in general because i don't want it to be obvious how i spend my money. Knowing how a person can massively mess up a brand, my choice felt very validating. If I owned anything Balenciaga or bared their name, I'd put off wearing it until they change creative directors

I also preordered the Gucci x Balenciaga Horsebit bag, and I had a bit of the same feelings when I was wearing the bag. I use it less now, and it’s a shame when you just adored something and someone else’s actions changed how it made you feel. I use it sparingly still just because I bought it from Gucci and it’s a classic Gucci style… but now I wish i had just bought the classic version!

I too have a beautiful grey on grey balenciaga bag. Idont wear it and will never carry it again. It will be sold this year even though I loved the bag. I commend you for standing up and maintaining your standards

I love my double bow heels, i have it in an emerald green. I wanted the pink but Barbiecore was everywhere when I was choosing a colour and so i had fatigue from alllll the pink everywhere. 😅 luckily i have the updated one so no stones falling off. I have a pair of rockstuds, which i like. But honestly i would replace it with jimmy choo saeda or tom ford padlock heels instead.

HI Cassie I totally feel your pain with the Balenciaga items as a lot of them are not cheap and do have nice designs. I also have a lot of Bal items from prior to the "incident". I will probably still wear the items that don't have huge logos but the ones that do have a logo I may only wear with discretion. Funnily enough the incident never made it to the news in Asia and actually I had to educate a lot of ppl I met who wore the Bal label including some of the SAs within the other lux brand stores. I guess I better not wear the label at all if I ever visit NYC again ... would I be safe? oh dear...dilemma dilemmas....

This is always the saddest part about building a collection. There will be pieces you fall in love with, but some time passes and for one reason or another, you're filled with regret over them. There are numerous pieces from the start of my collection that I have never even worn like this beautifully loud but ornate Moschino jacket and pants set, or my wonderfully oversized SS20 fashion show edition Lacoste polo, or the teal suede Dunhill sneakers, or the several Bottega RTW pieces that I thought were my style. The list unfortunately goes on! Then of course when I found pieces that were very much my style from Balenciaga, I had to retire those as well. I'm happy that the list of luxury item purchases you're not happy with is on the smaller side for you!

I’m tallying up the amount of items on your regret list that I also have and am too stubborn to admit that they may or may not have also disappointed me in some way. (I do love my Fendace matches, and they’ve not failed me, my multi pochette still brings me joy, though lately the men’s bag collection impresses me quite a bit more than the women’s. My Prada double wheel sneakers (I have them in 2 colors) have made me bleed more times than I’m willing to admit 😂 I love the chain cassette, but it’s your review that ultimately deterred me from purchasing it.) At the end of the day though, I stick by all my purchases (and I know you do too, and this is all in good fun), but hindsight sure is 20/20! 😂

I’m kind of surprised at the Fendi sneaker issue, but tbh I didn’t realize that the mesh they’re made of is more of a pantyhose style than a running shoe style. Honestly I’d take them back to Fendi, things are supposed to be used and obviously they wear out but this is not normal wear and tear after two months. 😢

Loewe puzzle bag medium. The way the flap lays over the zipper means I catch it on everything when I use one hand to get something out. I’ve dropped and lost 2 lipsticks and dropped and scratched a pair of glasses. Off to re-sale she goes 😢

The Fendi shoe holes made me so sad. It breaks me that luxury rarely has a warranty like more travel bags (Cotopaxi, Bellroy, other techie goodies, etc). I really wish luxury brands would start doing warranties but I know that’s not how they make money.. I know Bottega has their new warranty, hoping others follow

sometimes i get a feeling that if a luxury item is duped, i no longer want it because there’s probably something similar i’d like or the brand is the only reason, not my need for some sort of practicality. that being said, i adore blumarine because i always feel there’s something new and innovative from them. i’m considering getting their costume cross earrings + pink pants or a skirt set because i love the colors and designs and i usually spend less more on basics. i used kibbe type and color season to rule out what i do/don’t want and it keeps me from ill advised purchases

My favourite wallet is a stamped steel card case. It is scuffed as any thing but that gives it more of a patina than distressed look. My only problem is I'm Canadian. Yes I have had my skin stick to my wallet when retrieving my buss pass or buying Timmies in the dead of winter. That is when I use the neoprene cardcase 😎☕💋

I have a few Balenciaga bags that I am just popping away for now & will revisit them at a later date. It’s just not something I want to wear after all the mess. Ferragamo jelly flats that I got on Poshmark that hurt my feet & I’m not really feeling anymore, oh I could go on & on so don’t feel bad!! We all do it & make a poor decision from time to time 🤓

As a good customer, perhaps you can talk to fendi about this design flaw. That’s too much to spend on sneakers to fall apart so quickly.

I feel you about Balenciaga-I saved up to get two of their bags secondhand and then that all happened. I decided to still wear them because they don’t have logos. But I do feel the need to explain myself and mention that they’re vintage when people ask me where I got my bag from.

If you haven’t already tried, I would be taking your Fendi Mesh Sneaker to the store as it’s obvious that you didn’t trash them or wear them every single day over the last 2 months & I feel they will let you replace them at least. I always say to people that you should always let the stores know as it’s one of the only ways for them to know if there are faults or issues & there’s nothing to be ashamed about either as you love them & want to keep wearing so please at least try! Keep the Balenciaga x Gucci jacket, yes for now it’s still a bit 😅 but it won’t be in the next year - fingers crossed they don’t go rogue again - & yeah I mean it’s still Gucci too 😊

I bought a preloved Balenciaga camera bag in a gorgeous fuchsia that has an adorable picture of a kitten on it (I’m a cat lover) and it is adorable. Obviously bought it before “the incident”. Haven’t worn it since that happened but I haven’t sold it. Just waiting it out for an appropriate period. But it sucks. Can’t wait to see you unbox some new Chanel trainers 😂

I have the exact same dilemma and necklace (Gucci/Balenciaga). I too purchased before the 'incident' and from the Gucci side. I love that sodding necklace but just don’t know what to do 🤷‍♀️😔

For the Fendi sneakers, I used to work luxury shoe retail and for two months it should not be showing that much wear. I would 100% bring them back and get them to either swap them for a fresh pair or another style.

I have the Bottega cassette too, it is heavy but that green is so awesome, I have the mini Jodie in the parakeet green so I could enjoy the color without the pain lol. I won’t get rid of the bag because it’s just an iconic bag to me lol I had some balenciaga sneakers right before the scandal while I won’t continue to support the brand I still wear my shoes . I’m also not an influencer or famous so i don’t think it matters.

Sometimes we build something up so much that we feel like our life will end if we don’t get it. Then, afterwards it is like why did I want this? Soon, we’re onto the next obsession.

Sell the Bottega cassette bag. Your birkin is a replacement 😅 As others have said wait for a cd change at Balenciaga then wear your stuff.
