There was a documentary recently where they interviewed very wealthy women. These women are talking about how they no longer buy authentic wallets, but instead choose to buy really good wallets *condup* designer bags they love. They then invest the money they save in other things such as real estate, stocks, etc.

I have the Margaux 12 in dark taupe and use it almost every day. The color is very versatile, and the size is perfect for my needs. And you are correct; there aren't any large logos, which I have never been a fan of, as I find large logos to be pretty tacky (my opinion!). The price point IS pretty steep, but I have purchased this bag because I love it and will use it indefinitely. That is a good investment for me. Enjoy your point of view and your channel!

I couldn't agree more with you. Of course, esthetics is important, but comfort and security are at the top of my purchases. Bags without a secure closure are always a NO for me, as well as jewelry that is not comfortable. And, just don't get me started with uncomfortable shoes. The variety of textures in the adipability pack is impressive. From smooth leather to textured suede, there's something for everyone.

The hype of the Row Margaux is reminiscent of Celine Luggage hype - agree with you. The new Phoebe Philo bag line is uninspiring. I makes me wonder was it Phoebe Philo behind those fabulous bags in the past at Celine or was it the design team that was great.

Omg thanks for sharing this. I have seen some content creators raving about this bag and it is not even the style they usually go for. Honestly, Coach has a very similar Margeux look for less so 4grand is quite unreasonable.

I had many old Céline bags, about 15 of them, wonderful quality. I also have The Row bags including the Margaux and the quality is also excellent. I have always favoured obscure bags but everything I’ve bought has been ruined by SM, most of which is BS. In terms of quality my Hermès items have held up no better than my Fendi or YSL when comparing quality in line with price. All leather can damage whatever the brand. I’ve seen immaculate old sac de jour bags and I’ve seen battered and saggy Birkins. I paid £18 for a leather Liebeskind pouch a decade ago that looks new. My Chanel one at £600 has a frayed zipper and no corners left. I love all my old luxury goods but no longer buy much at all due to SM narrative.

I love your views and agree with everything! I immediately saw the body part with those earrings, as for the Cartier ring and bracelet they look incredibly uncomfortable but perhaps they won't move around due to the structure. I'm very into quiet luxury (since it allows me ease of mind wherever I go - safety, security + no judgement for obvious designer bags) and to me, quiet luxury is about comfort more than anything...so that open mouthed Idaho bag is a massive no-no.

Thanks for this video! I have gone back and forth for months on whether the Margaux is worth owning. I ordered a 15 in black grained leather last summer and once I had it in my possession, I looked at it sitting on my table and felt nothing 😂especially for that price. I think that it looks more luxurious in a non-black colorway, like a tan or taupe. Besides, I wondered about the quality. The leather is good but the hardware seems really cheap and the edge coating is not well done. I still like the esthetic, but would probably only purchase at maybe half off. On another note, I used to pine for the Old Celine box bag but now I'm loving the current version, which I bought recently (the Triomphe). It is much more wearable - not as heavy/bulky, without a piece of metal on the strap that digs into your skin. I also adore the Triomphe clasp as I view it as art vs a "logo". I actually wasn't paying attention to Celine during PP era but what I see from her now doesn't strike me as anything I'd want to pay those prices for.

I still love my LV reverse monogram bbkbags clutch! It's versatile, fits a variety of items, and is definitely a workhorse! I think seeing it everywhere (like the LV speedy) is proof that it's already a classic.

I love the look of the Margaux bag too; however, ITA I don't see it as worth the asking price as well. I've also seen some who have the smaller version w/ a bag strap concerned about the area where the bag strap is attached splitting stitches over time if the bag contains heavy items. Once the hype dies down, this bag may be more affordable re the resell market. I could see the Margaux without the bag strap in later years heading towards more of how people view YSL's Sac Du Jour re functionality--which is already available in slouchy supple grained leather--while still having a little iykyk Row/Philo cult status hype around it. Personally, I'm hoping Hermes considers reviving the Dalvy in more durable leathers like Epsom, Togo, Swift, Clemence, and Chevre. The Dalvy shares a somewhat similar silhouette to the Margaux , but has the gorgeous minimalist enclosure of the Herbag that's easier to close. I've seen many vintage ones still in great condition, but I've noticed lots of them are in Box leather which doesn't appeal to me since I'd love to use it as a workhorse bag, live in a country where it rains quite a lot, and am not keen on leather prone to scratches.

You look very comfortable. Also, I really enjoyed your old video guide to shopping in New York - it would be great if you continued the series elsewhere. For example, I'm in a suburb of London but I'm new to *condup* shopping so I don't know where I'm going or what to buy in my city.

The puffy sandals would be a more comfortable and regular wear for your wardrobe. I personally have a black inexpensive pair that I have been wearing in heavy rotation for 2 years now

Have you actually seen Margaux in real?? Cause I own one and have seen many and they do have feet underneath- maybe you want to correct this? It’s quite misleading. Also, comparing Margaux to Birkin is not something the Row intends. It’s quite funny you saying the Row is having a moment now- where have you been for the last 10+ years? As for the quality - their cashmere is made in the same factories as Loro Piana, and they use same suppliers for their exotic leather products. Their bags are made in Italy, same as LP. For someone who is Chanel lover, where the prices are systematically raised up and the quality goes low, a bit surprising statements in general - just my opinion, same as your opinion is all yours.

Like I said in the video, The Row has always been well loved, but the Margaux was released in 2018 and only recently there’s a massive waiting list, therefore my speculation about the sudden high demand. Just my two cents 😀

I think the Tiffany earrings look like Disney Mickey ears.

The Margaux does have feet on the bottom.

Have you actually had a Row bag? I’ve purchased two at a considerable discount and let me just say the quality and workmanship is not aligned with the price tag.

@@ColourfulNoir The leather is poor quality. I have the Gio duffle and the XL Dante clutch and both are poorly constructed. This is not a "luxury" brand and to say it's the next Birkin is just a ploy. For me quality come first then "name".

Lovely collection! I bought my first LV when I was 25 years old. I only used that bag a few times, haha. Also, love your friends! I have an Eva clutch in the DE print and love the little chain. But I don't want to spend so much money now, I have *condup* bought the bag I want, it is as good as LV and is one of my favorite things. Durability

I love my margaux. Its my everyday. The obvi luxury bags are just not a vibe anymore. It's giving ghetto. Especially with this economy & the chances of being robbed is not worth it. At least with the margeaux I can bring it to my work place & no one cares about it but me. 😂 & to the people who recognize the margueax, at the end of the day it's just a bag. if a bag is spoken about in a rap song or KZread it's giving cringe.
