I believe it! The food is sooooo nutritious. Eat the rainbow, they say, and we did!

I always thought I could spend a lifetime exploring every small town, village, valley, beach, temple, trail, mountain on the western coast that stretches from Mumbai to Kerala. All my travel ideas are to the south of Mumbai. Also I haven't forgotten about the vadapav thing yet :P And hope Hays has been remunerated well for the cuteness index that he brought especially in this video.

Tell the little guy, backwaters is a lake where the rivers meet the sea. The lake you visited is called Vembanad Lake (വേമ്പനാട് കായൽ) where 10 rivers meet the Arabian sea, a relatively small state, Kerala has 44 rivers.

Since you are in Kerala, gots to check out all the unique food items: Since you might be having not strong motions, a good option to try is Congee (it's rice porridge, but it's good for the stomach, they have their own version in Kerala, with lots of accompaniments). But I must commend you for trying the local dishes, cause most people don't know what they are and only venture to try a few items. Still gots to try: -Poori Sabji -Fish cutlets (tuna) -the many types of chicken curry -Mother's Veg Plaza (unlimited all vegetarian, best place to try the many sides that goes with rice and figure out what you like) -Chicken roast is really good as well -duck curry and kalappam Ahh yes, soo many things to try. Anyways, wishing you a great time and I'm glad you tried at least a bit of the items listed.

@@StephandPete Odisha is one of the most beautiful yet most under rated travelled States of India, surrounded by the Eastern Coast of Bay of Bengal Sea and Eastern Ghats Mountain Ranges along with plenty of Lakes, Waterfalls, Beaches, Hills, Lush Green Forest, National Parks, Wild Life Sanctuaries, Historical Monuments, Cultural and Tribe Heritages.

Here massive areas of paddy fields are about 1 to 2 meters below the water level in the backwaters ( below sea level), that is why you see the broad bund (mud walls), Water is constantly pumped out from the fields to avoid flooding. now it is motorized pumps in olden days wooden wheels known as chakram with wooden planks were used to pump the water out 24/7. Other place where cultivation is done below the sea level is in Holland.

@@nikhilsachan10 it depends on the summer rain, from the last 3 years temperature was moderate maximum of around 34° But the temperature of the year just before 2018 flood it around 37° one of the hottest summer.... In hill station like munnar, waynad there always temperature below 28°

Incredible Video. For those who didn't understand the items on the menu, here they are 1. Banana mezhukrutti (stir fry) 2. Lemon picle 3. Bitter gourd with coconut (Thoran) 4. Pineapple pachidi (Yogurt cream) 5. Mixed vegetable avial (boiled veggies with coconut and curry leaves in coconut oil) 6. Egg thoran 7. Onion Thoran 8. Beetroot pachidi (Yogurt cream) 9. Sambharam (Butter milk) 10. Vermicelli payasam (pudding) 11. Beef roast 12. Sambar (mixed vegetables in spicy lentil sauce) 13. Kerala rice 14. yeaaahhhssss, thats the one. You went on the proper boat with the proper experience. Nice. That meal looks massive, now that's the way to eat. The spread looked good, with a wide range of items. All of the items are healthy, that's the thing about the sides in Kerala food. Hope you had the katcha morea, that's the yellow yogurt, that's usually accompanied with rice.

In all my years in India I never got to do an overnight houseboat, so I've put it on the shortlist for next Jan and we'll have to see how things play out as we get closer. Right now it's between Hampi and this and I don't look forward to making that final decision, because this looked awesome. Also that fish is one of my favorites and I miss it.
