Alongside a cleaner and chefs/cooks the concierge is a really hard job.Understand that they are the connection between the hotel and the rest of the world.I proudly work at The Four Seasons hotel at Park lane and it's a tough business all over :).U will be incredibly connected but it's also very stressful.I have had the pleasure of working with a few of these gents and they are all top notch. Hats off. Christ I miss my office :/

If the Harry Potter incident indeed happened to this concierge, that is one heck of a coincidence!

Quite ridiculous to be requesting a hotel staff that’s non related to their hotel stay…I would have told them to shove it

If we all served one another and lived by the golden rule everybody would be a concierge and be served

I couldn't be a concierge. I got money and can't stand people who have money and big sense of entitlement. Which is a lot of them. It wouldn't take long before I told somebody to ef themselves that requested something ridiculous and pretentious.

as much as I would like to agree - I'm not sure thats true.service comes with being personal :) but that doesn't mean businesses won't find more value in A.I robots. And I'm in the hotel industry. Its very scary but it's real.

I work in the concierge service online for a classy company. You’d be surprised how much the programmed AI can do for the client.

I think some clients prefer having a real Human interacting with them, and not some virtual ersatz. not that rare really, not sure if generational or not, maybe people will prefer machine in the long run.

Studying in the USA is a status symbol in places like China, these kids come from family’s of million and billionaires. You see college kids pulling up in the latest super cars in these places the education isn’t important they have money but it adds status which only can be achieved by work.
