Refreshing to see once a woman prefering fine jewelry over chanel costume jewelry (tired of those chanel earrings everywhere). In case your earrings have real emeralds, you might consider storing them without piling. Emeralds are not soft compared with other gem stones with 7.5-8 on mohs scale but nevertheless they are prone to crack. Most emeralds have inclusions which is also called `emerald garden' which are not undesirable (unlike in diamonds and other gems). Because of the inclusions you might take extra good care of the emeralds, avoiding chipping. And as of the tanzanite, you might even take more care, because these are soft gems to wear on a ring with only 6.5-7 on mohs scale (even though very common worn on rings).

@@ValOjeahHtown someone, in other video about gold an platinum, told me 22 karat gold jewelry. Is valuable, and easy to sell. And don't buy 14 karat as investment. And Sterling silver. That is 925 silver jewelry. Or even 950. Silver is a good metal too.

The “nothing exciting” piece is labradorite. As a geologist it is very exciting to me lol. I liked seeing your collection. I almost never wear my fine jewelry but I should more.

I'm just a rock nerd and I love labradorite.

I never buy costume jewelry anymore. I feel like they are money down the drain, as they get easily discolored, turn the skin green, look tacky when they get discolored and break easily. I prefer Sterling silver with zircon or Swarovski crystals, or pearl jewelry. If someone searches well enough they can find fine jewelry in extremely good prices, and they can even last for years if you take good care of them properly.

Same! I am only 13 and I only wear my nice jewelry because I know it will last and I don’t ever have to take it off

Nice pieces! I used to collect and wear vintage 925 sterling silver but have switched to white gold then to 18k yellow gold. I absolutely LOVE jewelry and have been collecting for over 30 years LOL! Love your Tiffany box! (Edit) you can slide your gold rings on a pool stick to straighten it out again. Works very well!

Love your collection as always. I love that your collection has pieces that are not essentially fashionable at the moment but has some memories attached to them. Most of my collection are actually reminders of some milestones in my life. The trends are gone but I can never part with them. Thanks for sharing.

The 1st video that I watched of you was the jewelry collection video back in May 2015. My husband & I enjoy watching your videos. It is wonderful to see a young woman who is intelligent, poised & successful in business but also finds joy in her personal life. As a secretary in Manhattan back in 1968, you couldn't wear pants to the office. I would wear dresses or skirts w/blouses & stockings. It was in the early 1970s when companies allowed us to wear pantsuits. So when I see your work outfits, I say "thank goodness, someone has the good sense to know how to dress properly for the corporate world". I loved jewelry since I was little. I still have the jewelry that I bought for those special accomplishments in my life. Now I wear good costume jewelry most of the time as my lifestyle is casual at age 67. Was an antiques dealer for 15 yrs & sold vintage jewelry from the 50s, 60s & 70s like Trifari, Coro, Goldette & china, glass, etc. (Vintage is 50 yrs & older, antiques - 100 yrs.) Also, I am wondering why the "luxury YTs" who show their Cartier, Hermes, etc jewelry do not invest in Mikimoto. Any thoughts? When you have Tahitian pearls in your line, I will definitely be buying from you. As a Pisces, I love pearls & have many pearl pieces including Mikimoto. Thank you for your kind words. I believe if an opportunity comes your way, go for it. Whether it works out great or not, you will learn from the experience. As you enter a new decade, your views change. Since 7th grade, I was involved in church & school activities. At 24, I was a lay volunteer at a Catholic school on the Wind River Indian Reservation in Wyoming. I was an associate teacher in the English dept for grades 4 to 8 & taught typing. Loved the experience of being immersed in a different culture. The children seemed to enjoy my NY accent, too. In my 30s, I got married & had my son. In my mid 40s, I worked as a museum educator at the Queens County Farm. Did this for 13 yrs until my husband was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2010 & am his caretaker. I am a uterine cancer survivor who caught it in Stage 1 in 2009. (Ladies, don't forget to have an annual Pap Smear. It can save your life.) My sage advice to anyone: be positive, have a sense of humor, travel (even if it is in your own state or country), buy quality items (it doesn't have to be real expensive but you want it to last), be compassionate & considerate to others & be kind to yourself. Love your collection! Thank you for the inspiration to give away all my old costume jewelry. I now only have special costume pieces that were my mother’s and fine jewelry. I never had the heart to give away any of it because I just love jewelry but I barely wore any of it because it was so overwhelming to look through everything and I found myself only wearing my fine pieces anyhow. I absolutely love pearls as well! My 2 all time favorite pieces are a pair of Sofia pearl studs that are 8 or 9mm and my gold pearl ring from James Avery. It broke my heart when I discovered my moms pearl necklace was a fake (she never knew) so I’m looking to find one just like it but real. I love your pearl necklace you designed! 😍

Lashlove16 So sad not to use your jewels even if they are precious they are their to be enjoyed come on you only live once 🤔😘Maybe photograph them before you wear at least you will still have a photo if the worse case scenario happens I once had a pair of real pearls restrung and they are vintage ones belonging once to my maternal Grandma when I got back from the posh jewellers I noticed they were not hanging correct they are verigated pearls I took a picture luckily of them before I left them at the jewellers and when I got home I counted them 1 pearl was missing that was why they weren't hanging right which I only noticed once back home and I went back to tell them and they said they would have a look in their workshop for it and said it might be on the bead engine and after a few days they rang to say they had found it and if I brought the pearls in again they would restring them for me another week or so they rang me to say I could pick them up and this time I studied them closely inside the shop and counted them and they hung correct fancy letting a customer receive them hanging not quite evenly hadn't they noticed it themselves a good way to spoil your reputation for a high end Family run jewellers I had thought to use an expensive jewellers because I thought they would take better care of my pearls and not to use a fly by night shop I am going to string my own beads and pearls from now on 😂😊

Wrinklies awww u r sooo right . I bumped into a family jeweler that retired at a funeral and she told me to enjoy my jewels life is too short . I will have to ask my mom to get them from the safety deposit box. I am sooo sorry about your pearls . That was very unprofessional. Ironically my my mom’s pearls from 30 plus years ago I gave to my friend who loves to make jewelry to restring . I used to have a good friend that was a jeweler and he would fix everything for me right away . Unfortunately he no longer is in the biz . We have a saying in our culture that you have to really trust your jeweler

Your Tiffany watch is a Concord 18k / stainless Saratoga. It was made by the Swiss watch co Concord for Tiffany. It is a classic quartz two tone timepiece, with the style name of Saratoga. Glad you love it. Btw a small piece of chalk in with your sterling jewelry will hinder tarnish. 😀

Girl, I feel you. I think the real stuff will be better to have in the long run. Costume jewelry has not lasted me either. They either broke, got discoloured, or scratched up. Invest and you'll save in the long run :)
