ADVERTISING
As content creation is our business and how we earn our living you will see advertising in our content from time to time in different forms:
We are very selective about what brands we work with on paid/sponsored content creation and as a rule we don't work with any brand that we don't already or wouldn't spend our own money on. We are incredibly proud of all our brand partnership content and it will always be disclaimed in the most transparent way possible so you know exactly what is with 'AD' on screen and in the description box. If the entire video is an 'AD' this will be in the title of the video.
Because we don't work with a large amount of brands on sponsored content we do rely on our KZread ad revenue. Any adverts you watch during the duration of our videos will earn us a small percentage of 'ad revenue' from KZread and we really appreciate you watching the adverts in full (and not skipping them), but only if and when you can. We also know that time is precious so no pressure.
We also use 'Affiliate Links' in the description boxes below our videos and if you make a purchase via these links we will earn a small percentage of commission depending on the sale amount. Not all links are affiliate links but just assume they are.
Any items/links marked with '[AD - Pr products]' are products which have been 'gifted' from the respective brands without a contract for sponsored content. This is still classed as a form of advertising because nothing is ever "free", brands are gaining exposure to our audience by us featuring them, so these items are marked as 'AD-Pr product' in the description box but we are under no obligation to feature these items. And as with our paid content, we never accept gifting/pr products from brands that we don't already or wouldn't spend our money on. If we have received a press discount on anything featured this will also be disclaimed.

I have listed size info below next to each item but for reference I am a UK size 10 (now a small 10) with an A cup bust and I'm 5ft 9' with a 34" inseam.

    I just want to add something about the construction of knits: “fully-fashioned” (knitted in) seams are far superior to cut-and-sewn ones, which get holes. I noticed one of yours, the La Ligne?) even has the side seams finished this way, a sign of top quality. Certainly, the sleeves should always be attached to the bodice with fully-fashioned seams, as a minimum. Fabric quality is important, but it’s not the only quality criterion.

    Hi Emma! Thank you for your videos, especially about cashmere 😊. I'm very into it. I discovered that cashmere can be made from combed and carded yarn, giving it a fluffy or sleek texture. My most beloved item is from Galleries Lafayette. Also, I love my silk-cashmere beanie from Johnstons of Elgin. A year ago I found your video and your channel when I was searching the information about this brand.

    I’ve been living in cashmere sweaters and matching joggers or skirts, mostly from Quince. I love having matching sets, so I often buy the matching three pieces. I love wearing long, knitted cashmere skirts more than joggers at home, but that’s just me. With long cashmere socks, of course. I also love Banana Republic’s cashmere, but it’s about twice the price of Quince’s.

    I read comments about the cashmere industry. Yes, animal cruelty is involved. So is child labour and trafficking for the production chocolate, our make up, all food industry for meat AND vegan food... Let's not all vertue signal here but agree that buying oversized, long-lasting fashion is the key. Then the items can last for longer and fit our ever-changing bodies. Eat locally grown food and donate to charity shops what might be reused and loved by others. Beautiful items, immaculate taste as usual ❤

    I am a huge fan of cashmere, so absolutely love your videos. I recently became aware of how the cashmere industry works, in terms of how they get it from the animal, and I was truly shocked at the cruelty involved. It’s made me very uncomfortable now. I know you are an animal lover, advise you don’t watch some of the videos I’ve seen, too upsetting, not sure if there is a “kind” way of obtaining cashmere? It’s a dilemma for me now, and I’ve stopped buying since being aware of how cashmere is obtained.

    Some stores/department stores stock the brand, but for now that seems to be only in Finland and mainly Helsinki, so that's probably not of much help. To help determine the best size, they do have quite informative measurements of the garments themselves on the website (I was just eyeing one of their items myself). I find it quite helpful to compare those to not only on your own measurements, but also your favorite existing cardigans to get some idea of how the fit compares.

    That’s just not accurate of ALL factories in China. I understand it’s easy to tar them all with the same brush given that it’s only the bad ones that are ever publicised in the media, but it’s not factually correct. There are high level factories that work on low order quantities for brands like The Curated. These factories don’t produce or operate in the same way as factories that produce for high street brands like Primark whose order quantities are vastly higher and price points much lower.

    The Curated cashmere or wool do not have the certifications from RWS and GWS. It’s also an extra cost for companies. The cashmere is from Mongolia and there is a big concern with desertification now due to such a high demand for cashmere. I recently made the decision not to buy any new cashmere anymore. I will only buy 100% recycled. I cannot feel good wearing something that causes unnecessary suffering to an animal just because I need a sweater.

  • @EmmaHill

    @EmmaHill

    6 ай бұрын

    This is only true for some cashmere. Cashmere can be obtained at one time of year by combing but without pain to the animal from certified and audited herders where priority is the welfare of their animals. Just in the same way that many meat farmers do but obviously in that case it results in death. It is definitely true that this cashmere costs considerably more in price so therefore any reasonable priced brands will not use this cashmere because it won’t be profitable. I completely respect anyone that chooses not to wear or buy cashmere, everyone is entitled to that choice. For me, I eat meat, wear leather, silk and wool and I would feel like a hypocrite if I made the claim that cruelty is not ok but only in the instance of cashmere goats. Being an ethical consumer cannot be a halfway effort in my opinion. You’re either all in or as far as I’m concerned you’re just not ethical. But again, that’s simply my view for myself and not anyone else.

    The all or nothing statement she gave is ignorant. Anything a person does to try to decrease animal cruelty is better than nothing. I'm not trying to sound unkind but her saying she'd be a hypocrite if she said she wasn't ok with animal cruelty is saying that she IS ok with it. Again, I don't want to be mean but this is just plain ignorance.
