They should make a movie based on this company's history and founder. Easy Oscar contender.

I remember one of my teachers showing my class the full version of this interview back in high school. I swear, that CEO is a wannabe James Bond villain! I'm glad to hear that there are now so many alternative avenues for getting glasses now since when this interview was made.

What, exactly, does a sun-glass monopoly have in common with a totalitarian dictatorship?

You would think he could afford to take more english lessons ( his english is so poor for such a wealthy individual ). I advise all readers make sure your optician will give you a proper prescription ( i.e. not missing the pupil to pupil measurement ) BEFORE you have your vision tested. Then buy your glasses online to circumvent their monopolistic practices.

@@CreedK The power to dictate anything they wish? The monopoly has the power to dictate prices, as it has, while dictatorships have the power to dictate everything concerned with the country.

@@blaze9528 there's a pretty significant difference between the two buddy, and for the record I'm not saying that either is good. It's also not a true Monopoly, people are just too stupid and choose to buy $120 sunglasses thinking that they're vastly superior to the good $25 alternaives (not $5 crap). It's how they got a 70% market share in the first place.

At least these glasses are not made in China. UGH! Also on the plus side, the Italians definitely have a flair for design. Lenses are very expensive though.
